Happy Happy Freaky Friday.... Not a good night sleep, not sure why. But am up and trying to get the day started Picked up my new hearing aid yesterday for the right ear. Totally different than the aid on left. Probably will spend time today trying to learn how to use.Very tiny,,,geez . Hot hot and more hot today. When the ac is out in your car, you do not wish to travel far. Will be staying in again today. Hope all have a great Friday
@Gloria Mitchell , I hear you. I think if funny when I hear people our age say something like, "I don't remember it being this hot when I was a kid." Well of course not. It's not so much an environmental problem, as it is the fact that this city is more concrete than open land, as it was in our childhood. I say, "Let's get some jackhammers and really big dudes, and let 'em rip it all back out."
We have had rain and thunderstorms all morning and afternoon, and it looks like they will be here for most of the day. Yesterday, it was sweltering hot, and totally muggy; so Bobby and I were out in the little backyard swimming pool most of yesterday afternoon. Today, of course, that is not happening, and we can't even go to the fitness center and swim because they close it down any time there is lightning close by Huntsville. So, here we are, watching the rain coming down, and writing in the forums we belong to. But tomorrow is supposed to be sunny again, so fitness center, and swimming pool in the afternoon if we get another hot and humid day. I know what you are saying about not driving far on these hot days, @Gloria Mitchell ! We do not even have AC in our car; so we just keep the windows rolled down and hope for a little breeze.
@Yvonne Smith , heat index has been 109 here last few days. Promise of rain next Wed. thru Friday. And we need it..it is Hot!
@Ina I. Wonder good morning, looks like your the first to post here today. About to hustle and take a shower, take hubby for MRI today,in our no ac car. Hope you and all others have a good Saturday ! Will tune in later today
Good morning! As usual it's sunny and hot...104. We've been in the triple digits for so long now I don't really even look at the weather. Temps are without a heat index because our humidity isn't too high. I have 2 X-rays this morning...all by myself . I do have A/C in my car though. Aug 11 I have MRI of same areas that are getting an x ray this morning...have to go alone for that also. And I'm skeered. Just checked our humidity and it's at 47% at 5 am. As the temps climb, the humidity drops though and that's the pattern here. By afternoon it will be in the teens.
Though I am still recovering from jet lag....I spent this afternoon sorting out a desktop a laptop and a tablet computer, so I feel brain dead now They are a lovely senior couple, but somehow manage to fill their computers with so much junk that they barely work I have brought one home which needs a new hard drive so I will look at it after the weekend,.................... I did a food shop at our local Aldi on the way home and noticed that a lot of the prices had increased by 10% since I last shopped a month ago, so I guess the devalued pound since the Brexit vote is starting to bite.... I hope you are all having a good weekend....here is a photo of Lisa with one of her last purchases in Lima before we left.....an embroidered headband....
Good morning to you all, it's a beautiful sunny morning here, but I think it will change later, I didn't sleep too well last night, still adjusting to UK time, so feel sleepy this morning... A few Peruvian paintings today..................have a good Sunday...
Oh my got up stiff and hurting all over. That does not happen much for me. Aleve, hot shower and coffee ..will be good to go soon. Decided to sit out on patio and air dry my hair while the weather is cool...before sun up Hope all have wonderful Sunday...skip the headlines...and you just might
@Terry Page , the Peruvian art is so beautiful. I did notice in most of the pictures you shared with us that the people seemed to have a love of vibrant colors, especially red. Can you tell us a bit about the things you found most surprising concerning the local populace? Although I'll never get to go to any of the places you have, I still enjoy learning about the differences of other countries. I guess that makes me an armchair traveler.
