Good morning to you all.....it's 7am here and a sunny start to this holiday Monday, it's supposed to reach 26/27c (80f) today, fairly hot for us, but thankfully not as high as the temps in California. [IMG]

I may do some gardening today or maybe simply relax in the garden, enjoy your day whatever you are up to...

Here are a few paintings featuring pipe smoking, my father smoked a pipe at times, and I tried it as a teenager, but never took to it, I prefer the smell of some pipe tobaccos, over the to me awful smell of cigarette smoke...

Good morning, it's going to be a hot week! High of 110 today. I have a week of high temps, can't wait to go to the cooler temps of the coast next week. Hope they're not having a freak heat wave but even then it is only in the 80's there, normal summer temps are in the 70's for them.

    Gonna look now. :)

    Have a great day!

In a few days, we will be in Sept. and our normal average temp for that month is 86. My wife loves the temp in the lower to mid 80's, but when humidity is added to that, the "feel like" temp can be more like 95. Our normal average temp for Oct is 79 and that's not to bad, even with the humidity.

Talked to an older (50's-60's) couple last night at a restaurant that had just got back from a visit to Yellowstone National Park and Cody, Wyoming. The wife hates the summer weather here, but her husband, born/raised here, likes it. She would rather live in northern Colorado or in Wyoming than here, but wonder how she'd feel once "Old Man Winter" set in?

Don't know...I personally prefer winter to summer and always have. Only ended up here because it was near my daughter and I had a dying husband at the time.

I try and plan one of my trips to Illinois in the winter so I can enjoy it for awhile. I'll never move to a place that gets hit hard with winter though...being alone and older I don't see me driving in it or shoveling it.

Good morning all it's a grey one here as forecast, so a bit cooler but dry, I may have a bonfire today [IMG]

I didn't sleep too well so feeling flat at the moment, will hopefully wake up with more coffee..... have a great Tuesday...

Not being an artist, I have always been fascinated how the creation of light in paintings is achieved, I like the way the artist has used light in these paintings..

Well I don't smoke but I made a lot of smoke this afternoon with a huge bonfire, which has just about died out now, see photo below taken before it finally died :

That wouldn't go down well at all, lol!

As for the bonfire...not something I want to see when it's 108 degrees here now. :)

Good morning to you all, it's a cool damp morning here so I am going to spend the day with Caroline to finish off the decorating of her living room.

Over the centuries we may have changed our reading methods, but have we ? (scroll down)

    Have a great Wednesday [IMG]

It does look amazingly like an ancient laptop, but evidently it's more likely just a case of some sort [IMG]

    Some think otherwise of course...

The Hummingbirds are back, we starting seeing them last week so I put my feeder up for them and we are enjoying watching them feed from it. So far we have three that we see each day and the stormy weather does not affect their coming to feed at all. I told my Honey they probably had to fly through worse weather at times just to get here. This is the time they stay the longest and we really enjoy their play with each other while they tank up.

I have been helping my daughter move into their Home. Since their furnishings, etc. are still in a warehouse in Houston my daughters' and I along with her husband's Mom have been sharing things we have with her so they will have things they really need for now. Yesterday, we heard from her Mover's and it looks like God granted us the mircle we prayed for. There are cameras in the warehouse where their stuff is stored and the Mover called to tell my daughter the cameras show their things are not flooded. We are so thankful for this. He also wanted to let her know they do not know when they will beable to get in there and load their stuff to deliver everything to them but as soon as they are able...they will.

My three year old granddaughter told her Mom yesterday that she wants to live in her new Home forever and ever! And my almost one year old grandson is having a ball learning to walk while he explores his new home too. Since they have been staying at my middle daughter's home since the last few weeks of June, they are really happy to finally be in their own Home...even if they are kind of "camping out" for now. :)

We are also happy to hear that our family and friends in Houston are safe and still in their homes. They can't leave because of the flooding but some of them are actually able to volunteer to help some of the flood victims that weren't as fortunate.

@Ina I. Wonder sure hope you and your nephew are okay. Praying continuing for y'all.

Parts of Louisiana will be getting some heavy rain but here in Lafayette God has heard our prayers and has granted us a break from another round of flooding like last year...and once again we are so very thankful for this.

IMG_5181.JPG Stay safe @Babs Hunt. I have added you and all those still in jeopardy to all the pray groups I am associated with.

This is my front yard right now. You can almost see the grass, but that is probably my imagination.

They told us to put a white cloth over our mailboxes if we wanted the rescue boats to stop for us, It was a good idea, except that our mailbox floated away. It took all I had not to holler at Bobert when he chased it for about a 1/2 mile until he caught it. But he drug that thing back home. It's on my porch now.
