Good morning everyone! High of 61F today and sunny. I think I feel better, fingers crossed. Holly, my son and oldest grandson were also born in April and the dates just 2 days apart so my birthday always gets neglected because the emphasis is usually on the 16 yr old or when I was younger on my son of course. I still get presents, just not a cake, but I don't care. Too bad about the SOS call to work. Ike, I have a little barker...never though of the shower. I have a walk in shower in my bedroom, but I never use it, I use the bigger main bathroom one. That could have been my dog's toilet and the grass in my back yard would be looking much nicer. Too late...you can't teach an old dog new tricks, plus he'd want to do that at my daughter's house too as she watches him when I travel and I don't think she'd like that as they use all their showers. My neighbor in the apartment next to mine has a ankle biter. It's the quietest, friendliest lil mutt in the building. I have yet to hear it bark, and they been here 3 years. An old crewmate of mine lives on another floor and has a she-wa-wa. Dam thing thinks it's the baddest Doberman ever. Barks and snarls something fierce.
My dog is a barker, Ike....I've tried everything. I'm surrounded by dogs on all sides too so when he goes in the fenced back yard, it's a bark fest! It's very annoying, only reason nobody has probably called police is that they all have dogs that bark. Also, I don't even know if I should say this because it sounds racist but he hates Mexicans for some reason.. My lawn care people are Mexican as are all the neighbors ones...he will bark a solid hour while they are here. I've had other people come and do things and he doesn't bark...also barks at my daughter's at any Mexican workers he sees. When I'm driving to my daughters and we go thru one slow town called Los Banos which has a lot of Mexicans he starts barking. Pickles is a racist dog I think. And just to make it clear, I am NOT racist. I think that all the Mexicans here Legally are hard workers.
My X bro-in-law had a Doberman that was like that. BIL lived in a mixed neighborhood then, with lots of Mex and some blacks. BIL always walked his dog on a leash. He had to. When anyone approached them on the sidewalk, dog would start snarling, louder as they got closer. It wasn't long before people would cross the street when they saw BIL and dog coming. I don't know if BIL taught the dog that, or it was natural to the dog.
Pickles is a Mini Dachshund, a German breed, lol. I didn't train him that's for sure. Now I'll have Germans mad at me, lol...I love Germans! I love everybody! Except bad people.

Good Morning folks...@ 6.30am , dark but dry and not too cold I'm so sore this morning, ended up being at work from 10.30am until almost 10pm last night...and now I'm just getting ready to leave again, for another at least 10 hours. Due to having the double herniated disc in my back, I'm supposed to only work every other day at the pithouse , and the inbetween days from home , so working straight 4 days of 12 hours has been really painful. Oh well, enough with the Whining..LOL..don't suppose any of you will offer to do it for me instead... Have a good day everybody....hope you're feeling much better Chrissy
I feel for you Holly, my back issues are minor compared to yours and mine can be painful enough, can't imagine working that long with a bad back!
Mornin all. It's a miserable 38 degrees under clear skies here on Iowa's east bank. It's supposed to hit the low 50's. What's miserable about that, you ask? This is Iowa, it's December, and the ground is an ugly brown. Now, how are we supposed to go sledding on that? Waaa! I want the cold winter winds. Waaa! I'm want snow neck deep to a tall Santa. Give me back my winters. I'm ok now. Today is the day groceries come, so I gotta hang around the asylum and wait for 'em. That's about all that's on my to do list. So, be careful out there. Avoid the zombies. They're everywhere.
