I couldn't possibly say [IMG] ........... seriously my partner Lisa lives in St.Petersburg @Gloria Mitchell , we met on the internet some 15 years ago, so I spend about 5 months of the year with her there, plus Lisa has a married daughter with 3 children living near London, who she visits twice a year, and Lisa and I also go on vacations together from the UK ............. some of my history is here http://www.seniorsonly.club/threads/my-russian-experiences.1972/

Good evening from a cool dark Worcester, a frost is forecast tonight and tomorrow will be cooler at 6c (42f) ................. my day went well, it was a cool sunny one so I walked to Aldi and bought the first batch of cheese, all the Double gloucester they had, so will go back tomorrow when they will hopefully have restocked. While I was in Aldi they observed the two minutes silence at 11 am for Remembrance Sunday, everything stopped and their was complete silence, I must admit I was moved to tears the war and the loss of so many innocent lives, hit me hard. I wouldn't normally even be aware of the time or the two minutes silence, so it was a valuable experience for me.

I went out again this afternoon and took the dog for a walk, which we both enjoyed....

Cathy came back an hour ago from her weekend in London, the dark restaurant was an amazing once in lifetime experience for her and her friend, but Caroline had a mini panic attack at the start, and was consoled by one of the waiters who said it happens sometimes.
Eventually Caroline settled and really enjoyed the evening .................. because there are no distractions, you talk much more and food takes on a different dimension because of your heightened senses .............you guess what you ate at the end of the meal and they give you a photo of the dinner plate that was served to you........all the waiters are registered blind and extremely helpful and caring, and the food was wonderful (they all choose the Vegetarian menu)

Yes I would agree @Chrissy Cross but evidently most people who have been give a positive review .... though it's not for everyone I guess, my daughters and their friend loved it. I think the heightened sense of taste, texture and scent, give you a very different experience of a restaurant and the food. There is one in St.Petersburg but I know Lisa would never go, so I doubt I will ever get try it out.... ;)

Here is a video of the experience...

That was interesting. I'd try it but wouldn't want kangaroo or ostrich.

I'm also surprised they don't knock over their bottles and glasses.

Yes @Chrissy Cross I guess you are ultra careful ;) my daughters experience was that it was ultimately a lot of fun, and an interesting experience, but you would only really go once, because of that, most of the time we go to a restaurant simply to eat and enjoy the company and the environment, I guess you don't know until you go, I could well not like it all......

Good morning it's 7:00 am or it was when I started, on a bright frosty morning, I am going cheese hunting again today and will begin my packing ready for an early leave on Wednesday.
Have a great start to a brand new week.......

LOL...it's not for me either CC....I read the reviews and I'm not keen on groping for my food... but you know ostrich and kangaroo are lovely if you like red meat...it's too gamey for me, but I still have some in my freezer from when my o/h ate meat but he doesn't now that he's a pescatarian so maybe I should chuck it away

    Anyway Good morning all..

I only slept a few hours but this morning it's sunny, albeit freezing cold..

I had a real problem with my computer yesterday it wouldn't upload anything... no pictures to any forums at all... not loading pages, and those it did it was taking an age to load... I thought I must have got a bug somewhere, so I had to leave a note for my o/h to look at it when he got up for work if he had time...and bless him he did, and it seems to be running ok again this morning, so hopefully it'll be ok..

I'm supposed to be at the dentist this morning but I won't be able to go, so when they open at 9am I'll ring and change my appointment...

Hope you get all your cheese ration stocked up @Terry Page

    Have a good day all
