My Honey and I had our 6 months checkup with our Primary Doctor this morning and I gave her the gifts for her new born and daughter. I could tell she really appreciated our thoughtfulness and her new son is as cute as can be while her daughter is a beauty too. We decided to go ahead and get our flu shots...ouch! Things went well and she drew blood work for both of us so now we just wait to see what the results will be. It is good to have our Doctor back and we both are happy everything went well with labor and the birth of her new son. She even thanked us for our prayers for this. It's a good day. Hope it is for each of you too.
Good for you...and yes the flu shot can be painful and ache for a few days Babs. BTW did you give her your gifts for the new baby?
Yes, I did Holly and she appreciated our thoughtfulness very much and our prayers for a safe delivery, and healthy baby...which were answered. She really liked the book we got for her little girl about being a big sister and told us they didn't have one like that and she couldn't wait to read it to her daughter. She appreciated us giving a gift to her daughter too and not just her new born son.
Tea parties...how I loved having tea parties when I was young. I also enjoyed inviting my granddaughters over for tea parties too. Soon it will be my youngest granddaughter's turn to be invited to a tea party with her Granny. I will wait until it is Spring and the weather is warm again but one day in the very near future my granddaughter will be receiving in the mail her very own Tea Party invitation and I hope she will enjoy it every bit as much as her older cousins and I did. Now that most of my other granddaughters are so much older and I don't see them very often I have been thinking of asking them one at a time to have lunch with me at Piccadilly Cafeteria on a Sunday so we can share some good food while I catch up on what is going on in their lives now. I hope they will like this idea too. It's 37 degrees right now but it will warm up to around 58 degrees by noon and we will have some sunshine too. Anything is better than those digits in the 20's. It's my husband's day off today so we will take the car to the car wash and give it a good cleaning sometime today. Maybe afterwards we will go get an order of garlic shrimp jalapeno french bread at Pizza Village and just enjoy the outdoors for a little while. It's going to be a nice day here...hope it will be that way for all of you too.
oooh that sounds like a lovely thing to do with your little grandchildren, and a fabulous idea about lunch with the older GC's @Babs Hunt ...superb. I wish I had GC's to do the same with. You do sound in a very upbeat mood today.. and I hope you have a lovely day out with your hubs today...
Good Morning all... Although it's windy...finally the rain has stopped and the sun is out and we have blue skies...yeaah... it's 50 deg F outside. but almost 70 indoors without any heating on..and I have windows open too I'm not planning to go anywhere today but I will probably wrap up and go for a walk around the block or through the woods if the sun stays out. Have a lovely day folks,
Good morning! Rained a little this morning and temps are on the cooler side. Need to go out though but just to Walgreens....need my thyroid med refilled and also need stamps. I still have one bill I pay by check, plus a few birthday cards. Hope everyone has a great day. I started watching "Orange is the new black" ....never could get into it before but I persevered and actually like it. I'm always happy when I have things to binge watch.
That's why I like the ION channel...every day is a binge watch on one TV series or another. Today it is Blue Bloods...which is one of my favorite shows.
Well, blow me...after I said I didn't need to go anywhere today it suddenly occurred to me that I had to go into town and collect my meds..I'm on my last day so I couldn't leave it...so I ended up driving into town, all wrapped up against the wind ( I hate the wind more than anything) ..but it was a beautiful blue sky today..although cold. While I was down there I bought a few incidentals in the Poundstretchers.. ( not pound land)..but a cheapish hardware type of store. I was looking for new fingerprint proof satin tea and coffee containers..Amazon are charging too much for them...anyway they didn't have them and our little market town has very few stores, and no more that would sell Tea caddy's.. ..so no luck there.. then I went into the charity shop just to see if they had any ( often -times they sell brand new hardware) they didn't. but they had a brand new Navy blue puffa jacket in my size there for just £6.99.... Now, I have loads of coats and jackets..( remember we have 4 seasons here so we need them)...but I didn't need another one...but this is a high end brand, going for £6.99 , I couldn't just leave it, it's over £100 new... so I bought it. lol...I daren't tell my husband he already wants me to get rid of some of the coats I already have.. Then I did the supermarket shopping...and dropped my o/h's shirts off at the dry cleaners... then home put the shopping away..and I'd noticed as I'd come in the front door that after all our rain this last week the bottom of the downpipe from the roof was completely clogged up with moss and leaves, so I grabbed a bucket and some rubber gloves and cleared that out. Then I did the washing , and while that was going I made myself some Black treacle and stout flavoured ham rolls for late lunch ..and now I'm waiting for the washer to finish so I can get everything in the dryer ....so much for a quiet day...
@Holly Saunders You have had quite a productive day and seem to be feeling a lot better these days. Don't worry about getting that nice coat. After all the nice stuff you donated not to long ago you deserved that coat! I'm so glad to hear you are getting out and about and getting things accomplished. You go girl!
Bless you @Babs Hunt ...I do believe you're right about the coat. I can't say I'm feeling a huge load better, my shoulders are improving little by little however so at least that's something to be thankful for.. now we just need to get something done about my breathing problems and I'll be a happy bunny..
