@Holly Saunders does the rainy weather bring more soreness too or is it just when you overdo? @Tim Burr How's that full time again working for you?
I get bored but after all these years I can't imagine having to go to work. Guess it would depend on the job though. I'm a very early riser but even on the days I have an early drs appt. I don't like the feeling of HAVING to get up early.
I'm still keeping busy helping my kids with the grandkids and now that I'm our only driver that keeps me running to and fro almost everyday too so I don't really have time to get bored yet. If I wasn't busy with these things I would probably do some volunteer work so I could pick the days and hours I wanted to do this. I really would not be a very happy camper if I had to get back into a regular job routine again...but the extra money would be nice.
OK, full time update... Admit it was harder than I thought getting out of bed on those days I usually slept in. But so far, so good. Planning out major renovations and ordering parts for them is fun. Good training program set up for the 'younger folk' and I feel needed. That's important for me. Got my first full time check and THAT is a very nice plus!
Oh wow @Babs Hunt , you really do have a full itinerary this month, I remember how you couldn't get to your Big birthday meet last year on the beach, so I'm hoping you can get going this time... As for the aching when it rains...no... it doesn't make the tendinitis worse..but it does make the RA in my hands very painful. That said, I live in the south and we get a lot less rain here than people out of the Uk think... probably only around 80 days of the year, and probably on half of that is actually heavy rain.. @Chrissy Cross , yes the pain is horrible at night sometimes..like last night, if I've done too much during the day. For the last few month I've been unable to even lift things or put my own coat on, but I'm able to do that now with a little care.. and now I can drive a bit more without pain, so it makes me forget that I still have the tendinitis, and then I pay for it big time during the night when the muscles all seize up...so I suspect that's what's happening with you also... @Tim Burr , so you decided to return full time after all?...i thought you and Mrs Burr had made the decision for you to remain part-time? Nice to get a full time salary again tho' isn't it... ?..Money topping up your account and not always depleting..
@Holly Saunders Well, the 'best plans of Mice and Men and all that..' They made me another offer I just couldn't turn down. I'm still a young pup at 65, so might as well add to the old retirement fund. Working out so far.
Good for you @Tim, strike while the iron is hot... I;ve just taken retirement at 62, and if it hadn't have been for the very long hours which affected my health I would still be working.. fortunately I don't have to worry too much financially for the future......touch wood..
G'afternoon everyone...it's a very sunny...but really ice=y cold day today...brrrr!! It's just past 2pm, and I seem to have done a lot today but yet not so much . I made a cooked brunch of bacon eggs and wholemeal toast... in the meantime hubs de-iced the little top freezer in my fridge in the kitchen which has been needing done for weeks, I was ramming things in there..and now there's lots of space again.. We were going to go out for lunch but it's waaay too cold, so as he hubs has a day off tomorrow we may go then instead... have a good Sunday everyone...
Good morning everyone! Not much going on in my world today and I got up too early so that sucks. Will probably watch the halftime show and maybe the beginning of the Super Bowl, think it starts at 3:30 pm on the west coast. Heard Pink was singing the national anthem and that she may have the flu...also read a few of the Eagles players aren't feeling well. Hoping the Eagles win but think the Patriots might.
I just had to post this pic...it was on my FB feed this morning. Pickles looks like the one on the left but he wouldn't be caught dead in that hat....too bad, it's soooo cute.
