Good afternoon to you all, I hope your weekend is going well, we went for a walk this morning around the city looking at some houses designed by a particular architect we both like, most of houses are on street corners and built during the early 20th century, I will post some pictures later. Here are some photos I took at the art exhibition yesterday... Modigliani who was an alcoholic and a womaniser and had a daughter by his last mistress (common law wife) Jeanne Hebuterne, during her pregnancy with their second child he died, and Jeanne committed suicide two days afterwards... Jeanne Hebuterne One of his many paintings of her ..
Afternoon all... We still Have a lot of Snow in the gardens but it's starting to melt and the roads are thick with slush, and the forecast is for Black ice, because it's still so cold.. This is the road that leads out of our woods.... Hubs has Flu and has been in bed for over 36 hours..and can only drink water.. no food...just slept most of the time.. Hope you're all going to have a safe and good weekend whatever you're doing.
Here are some photos of our tram ride and walk today, the buildings were designed by a local architect A.L. Lishnevsky who we both like, they were often built on corner sites at the beginning of the 20th century.............we caught the metro back and had a veggie stir fry for dinner...... Lisa has found a good access point to the main river here, the Neva, it's down some steps to the frozen water, so we will probably go for a walk on the river tomorrow at some stage, before warmer weather comes and the ice melts.... Hope you are enjoying your weekend.... My favourite of the buildings Some features on another one, they are so called devils and spirits evidently, and are featured a lot inside, but we couldn't go in because they are private residential units now... A couple of views from the tram window... A mosaic over the escalator in the metro station we used, there is a different one at each station....
Everyone Still cold here but no snow ! Its gone but not forgotten Feel for the people that are now experiencing floods
Afternoon all... Some snow hanging around a little bit but mostly all gone now... but it's only March so we may get more yet... but it is nice to see the grass all green again in the garden.. Not feeling brilliant today gotta admit, the pain is worse than ever before despite my meds...... ...but just gotta get through the day the best you can don't ya... .. Hope you all have a Good Day...
Good morning, the rain has stopped but temps are still in the upper 50's but this is the last day for that...rest of the week will be upper 60's and 70's. I can start walking again. This rain has finally put snow on our mountains which is great for the ski lodges and the melt off for us in the summer. Sadly though, the first day that one ski park opened a man died. He was snow boarding and somehow fell head first into some very deep fresh snow and by the time help reached him he was dead. 36 years old. Weird, if it hadn't rained, then it wouldn't have snowed in the mountains and China Peak would still be closed and this man would be alive. Prior to the rain, the news was saying how bad this year was for China Peak ski lodge and the owner couldn't open for lack of snow. Then it snowed and he was all excited and his first day open ..a man died. I don't know why I posted this here....maybe because of the weather. Im also concerned of drought conditions again this summer. Winter is our rainy time and if a ski resort can't open until March that means we didn't get much rain, which is snow in the mountains here.
Definitely looks like what happens where we are looking at to move to. We have a lot of snowstorm and blizzard photos I took while living in Colorado. The snow generally began Halloween week and the last snowstorm would happen Mother's Day Weekend. Before moving to Colorado, neither of us had ever seen outside Halloween décor covered in snow. Wife didn't see it in lower Michigan and I didn't see it in northeastern Indiana. We both miss and don't miss winter, but to live in any of the Rocky Mountain States, have to endure winters.
Good morning world and to all of you. My, what pictures and stories this morning. I have no photos but I am, as Minnie Pearl used to say, " I'm just so glad tobe here!"
Well TBH I was just rambling. I usually don't say much but once I start I can't stop. Now that I think about it, there are days when I barely speak unless it's to my dog or my daughter on the phone. Or to a cashier asking for a bag for my groceries. Everybody else texts with me.
Well, @Chrissy Cross, I'm a man who ramnbles and can't make a point, so you ramble on and I'll follow along.
I just got a call from my ex who lives in Ohio. He's been in and out of the hospital for months now with no real diagnoses or he's not telling me. Had pneumonia and fluid on lungs before Christmas and who knows what else...he's home for now but isn't allowed to drive..his BP falls and he's fainted. He's had Afib, also a smoker although he must have quit now with all the hospital stays. Drinks too but maybe that's done too. Anyway, he doesn't sound good....says he loves and misses me. That wasn't a conversation I wanted to have but I ignored his last phone call a week ago so had to pick up this time. Now, I'm all talked out @Bill Boggs ....you won't be hearing me in the breeze today. I'm just thinking he's not telling me everything.....he's 12 yrs older than I am and I haven't seen him in maybe 9 years or so.
