Good Morning peoples... It's another horrible wet day, will this rain never end? We were supposed to be going out today for lunch, but I'm not sure I can stand going out in this torrential rain tbh... Wish spring would hurry up. Got cheered up by my 2 late parcels from Amazon arriving this morning.. Have a Super day everybody...
Let's see: Yesterday was Mothering Day in the U.K. and today is National Napping Day in the U.S. There should be some sort of correlation and indeed it is nagging at me but for the life of me it refuses to surface. Perhaps mother's who are busy rearing their young need a special day in which to nap rather than the daily thing. Sounds rather legalistic does it not? As for me, I shall use the special day as opportunistically as possible by taking a small nap after dinner tonight. But then, I take a small nap Every early evening but yet, National Napping Day will give this afternoon's rest a little more meaning. Have a Wonderful Day Ya'll and by all means, take a nap, be at peace and dream good things.......................
Good evening friends, Lisa worked all day today so I have spent it reading and dozing, plus I made a fish pie which we have just eaten ...................the day started with sunshine but has become dull now, but still relatively warm at 5c.... The book I am reading "The Brothers Karamazov" surprisingly became a page turner this morning, so I read quite a lot today..... I will post a few pics of the art exhibition "Old Lithuania" exhibition of M. Dobuzhinky's paintings, which we went to yesterday, it was in the Museum of Music which we have been to before so we only walked through it.. The museum grounds... It consists of many rooms and small cinemas all devoted to music and musical instruments...
I remember reading that book (The Brothers Karamazov) many years ago. Back when I was a teenager, there was a movie out about that book, starring Yul Brynner. Naturally, after watching the movie, I wanted to read the book. Of course, since the book did not have Yul Brynner in it, it was not nearly as interesting to me as the movie was, and I remember that i muddled it badly, trying to make an oratory book report in front of the class. I guess that I need to re-read some of those classical old books again and see what they are saying now that I am not a teenager. It is chilly, but sunny here today. I went out to the shed and got some alfalfa pellets to sprinkle around the bushes and plants, and then when we get rain this next weekend, it should wash it all into the ground and feed the plants. I really need to start raking up the line and cedar needles that are all over the front lawn; but it has either been way too wet or too cold (usually both) to even think about yard work this spring. So, this morning, I am doing housework, and then will venture outside around noon when it warms up a bit more.
That's how I was @Yvonne Smith I read Dostoevsky as a teenager and couldn't get on with his books at all, but after Jordan Peterson recently recommended reading his works, I thought I would try again, which I am glad I did...........it brings home to me just how much age changes your outlook
Thanks @Don Alaska, I enjoy art and colours especially, so browsing and posting what I find beautiful lifts my mood somehow.....
from a wet dreary St Peter, it looks more like November out .... nothing planned today so I will just relax......... read.............watch and allow the day to unfold........ enjoy your Tuesday......
Afternoon folks... I hadn't realised it had got so late it's past 3pm here..and I've been busy doing the laundry.. and taking delivery of my new Google Home Smart speaker... I've still got to unpack it.. and plug it in..but I'll do that as soon as I finish with the laundry... Hope you're all having or going to have a good day today..the rain has finally stopped here..hallelujah !!
Good Morning all.. It's a dry and mild sunny morning... although quite windy. I want to go out this morning.....but I can't leave until the postman has been because I've got to sign for a parcel, and he doesn't usually arrive until 10.30 or 11am.. ..so that doesn't leave me long to get out and about and back again before the roads get chocked up with school traffic.. We're forecast for more snow this weekend too.. so it's important I get out today Hope you all have a decent day..and also get well wishes to @Bill Boggs
Good morning or to you all it's another gloomy November sort of day here, I guess I woke up in the same kind of grey mood, so cheering myself up with music and pics of flowers plus an early beer which always helps ......... enjoy your day....
