Good Morning everyone... It's 7.30am and it's dark and about 5 degrees. Wish I was in NC with Lara with all that nice weather.. ... We're supposed to get a little bit of sun around lunchtime today...although it's still gonna only be about 10 degrees tho' It's my day off today, so the plan is we're going for lunch to a favourite riverside pub about 30 miles from here...we'll see what the day brings tho'...my bones are aching so I might not have the energy to move out of this comfy chair.. Steve...I know you're more than used to that amount of snow most winters in your part of Canada ..but stay safe anyway. Have a good day folks....
Good morning everyone, its a calm morning here at 9c that's around 48f, I am taking my 13 year old granddaughter out shopping this morning for clothes I suspect, its her Christmas present from me, we have done it for a few years now and some fun and lunch together. I am also child minding this evening so its a real family day. Have just heard from Lisa who is due to fly to the UK later today to stay at her daughters, she woke up earlier with sickness and diarrhoea , so not sure what will happen now. I just hope she is well enough to travel. Have a good day everybody!

Greetings, from ice and snow covered Iowa. Well, Iowa celebrated it's 169th birthday yesterday in typical Iowa fashion, with our first real winter weather of cold, ice and snow. And this morning it looks like the snow has ended. It's 28 degrees out at 2:30am, with a 9 MPH breeze wafting across the snow. It's beautiful out, all clean and white. So, why am I up at this hour? Just one of my usual aches and pains woke me up. Now that I'm up, I made some coffee and thought I'd see who else might be awake. No plans for today for me. I like it that way. My plans always get scrambled anyway. Watched the movie "Raging bull", about Jake Lamotta. Saw it before but last night was crappy Monday on TV. I checked out the pay-per-view movies, saw nothing that looked worth the pay that I haven't already seen. I paid to watch so many movies that looked good, but turned into crap after just a few minutes, then I turned 'em off. What a waste. I did pay to see one called "Black noise". It was about an older man with Alzheimer's. Very disturbing. Well, that's all I got, so far. I'd just like to say, do not believe that rumor about me that is circulating. I did not EVER date Monica Lewinsky.
Morphine?? I was thinking along the lines of warm chamomile tea with lemon & honey…haha. Seriously though, I hope Lisa recovers quickly. Bless her heart. Ike…glad you finally got your snow. You happy now? lol
Good morning everyone....my shoulder hurts....I'll take the morphine if Lisa doesn't. Didn't sleep well as I got a text last night from sister that my mom is in the hospital. They just got back from a cruise on Sunday....don't really know anything more yet this morning. It's just my 2 grandsons today, everybody else is at work. I may not even get dressed. All I have to do is feed them all day and that doesn't require make up. Enjoy your day everyone!
Update on my mom: she has fluid in lungs so will be in the hospital for a day or so. She is comfortable now. My brother in law is a doctor at the hospital she's in so she is treated extra special....that is a relief for me! She's so far away in New Jersey that I can't just hop on a plane and visit. I would if the situation called for it though and I'm glad it doesn't.
Your moms lucky to have such a good family to give her that extra attention. I hope your shoulder is better soon.
No, waiting for medicare. Just had an X-ray done awhile ago that didn't show anything. It comes and goes, whatever it is.
How long do you have to wait for medicare? Do you know what your blood pressure is? You can get it taken for free at a drug store or your doc would probably do it for free if you ask.
Chrissy, sorry about your mom...and your shoulder! I hope it's not bursitis, I understand that hurts like the hammers of hell.
The skies finally dumped some winter precipitation on us last night. After midnight, sleet and hail, then light snow covered everything. My grandson's buddy decided wisely, to stay the night here rather than drive home after midnight. No appreciable accumulations though, barely 2 inches in my area. Roads were bad until later this morning. I work at home so I don't need to bother with it. Doggie was miffed when she had to go out, poor thing.
