Good evening folks, have had a couple of full days, Manchester yesterday and finishing tidying the garden plus packing my suitcase for my trip to Russia, all ready to put the cheese in tomorrow morning, it's an early start at 5am so I am off to bed soon. I had a great day in Manchester me with BIL John, who is great company a true Irishman and the girls with James went to Media City http://www.mediacityuk.co.uk/ We all met up for dinner in the early evening, at a pub just a few miles down the road across the border into Derbyshire. Here are a couple of photos, John looking very serious and the Gammon steak meal we all had except Cathy who had a vegetarian dish. Have a great week....and yes good wishes to @Chrissy Cross too The view from the car park
Good morning everyone! 88 today but I see some 98's in the future. Today is the lunch with the ladies from Curves and we're going to Mimi's....love that place. It's in one of the nicest plazas in Fresno ..it I remember to I'll take a pic. It's kind of like an outside mall with tons of stores and restaurants and a huge movie theater but what makes it so pretty is all the palm trees and water fountains and flowers everywhere. http://www.mimiscafe.com/lunch-dinner.aspx
As you can see it's not far, yet I've not been there in probably 8 years. Now I'm thinking once the weather cools that would be a nice place to walk...more interesting than my subdivision.
We have quite a few similar Plaza/malls around too @Chrissy Cross , although not near us, about a 45 minute drive away is our nearest. I go probably once every few years. Takes all day to walk around Afternoon all.. it's a gloriously warm sunny day but we have really strong winds, the tail end of Hurricane Helena... I went for a walk a couple of days ago just around the immediate area where I live, and took some photos on my phone. Autumn is starting to come in now and trees are changing colour... here's some pics I took... Have a good day everyone....
Greetings to you all from a very warm St.Petersburg, I arrived last night but my suitcase got left behind in Amsterdam the connection was tight at 45 minutes and we became separated, but it was delivered by courier this morning, so all is well. I have been settling in and we went for a walk this afternoon, it was a clear sunny day in the mid 70s so very pleasant, it's good to be in my second home with Lisa. I wish you all a good day
Where's my manners?... forgetting to say G'mornin' to you all?... well it's mid afternooon now... so g'day everyone... It's a very sunny day but really high winds. I just got back from the weekly supermarket shopping..I hate that at the best of times especially on a busy Friday.. and to get to the supermarket I have to drive through the woods, and it was like driving through a chicane ...so many trees and branches strewn over the road.. Lovely and warm driving in the car because of the sun, but when I opened the car door the wind nearly blew it off!! Just put the washing on.. and sitting now with a fruit pancake and a cuppa tea.. in the glorious silence of my house away from the noisy wind... Have a good day y'all
Good evening all, we are at the dacha for the weekend, it's been another hot sunny day and tomorrow is forecast to be the same, so we are making the most of the last days of summer. Tomorrow we have to sort out the apples which are in abundance here, and take a suitcase full back to the city to make lots of apple charlotte Have a great weekend
Thanks Gloria I do my best, I just go with the flow, achieve a lot on high BP days and rest on low ones, at least life never gets boring
Good morning I have awoken to a perfect summer morning, with a clear blue sky and in the 70s already. After my usual two cups of strong coffee I am about ready to face the world. Three of Lisa's friends are coming around later this morning to help pick some apples with grabber sticks, for the high ones. Here a few photo's I just took of the windfalls that Lisa has picked up, we already have a couple of fridges In Lisa's flat full and all these here as well, the whole dacha smells of apples, it's a good job we both like them... Have a good Saturday
Rainy and stormy this morning. The first of the winter-type storms has arrived. No snow at this level yet, but this storm came off Eastern Siberia and that is the usual way here in the winter. Most of the stuff is out of the field except Brussels sprouts and kale, but there are still beans and cucumbers in the greenhouses, and pumpkins and winter squash are curing in the kitchen. Potatoes, turnips, and rutabagas/swedes are drying in the garage. We dispatched four young roosters on Thursday, and they are in the freezer. It is a cloudy, windy day in the 40s F. and three of our grandchildren are here for the weekend. Have a good day all!
Good morning from a sunny Sunday in the country, a builder is coming this morning, to discuss our latest plan to have a wet room with a shower and toilet built into my room here. We are not sure how it will go, because in general Russian builders don't understand the concept of a wet room, though the Tajik immigrants around here do, they are in great demand and it's difficult to get a good one. I assembled a lamp for Lisa's bedroom last night, it's one Katya bought after seeing a lot of them in Croatia and liking them, but it didn't really look right in their house, so she gave it to Lisa. It reminds me of the Scandinavian lamps we had back in the '60s and goes with the look of the room I think. Enjoy your Sunday
