Chrissy, glad you're back home safely, and nothing was amiss when you got back *phew* ...I 'spect you'll miss the family and the company but sometimes we all need just a little bit of ''relaxing space'' of our own...and anyway, you've always got us to keep you company ...not quite the same I know LOL>.. but it's all we're offerin'....:D:D

Gotta go..work is awaitin'..... have a good Monday everybody!!

Good morning everybody on this damp cool Monday in Worcester, I am doing the opposite to Chrissy, going to help Lisa look after her grandchildren, who live with her daughter Katya and husband in Bracknell near London. I will be leaving soon for what is normally a 2 hour drive but I am going via a business appointment so it will be over 3 hours.
I am there till the 13th and will be doing the school runs and most of the cooking.

Have a good day whatever you are doing.

Good morning everyone! @Holly Saunders , I feel for you, hope you get through your day but back pain doesnt go away easily except with Vicoden and that is addicting and after awhile doesn't really help. Been there done that.

Today is a busy day for me, lots of errands and catching up to do. I'll probably get done just in time to go back in 2 weeks. :(

We also have rain coming which is good.

@Terry Page , I feel for you but you're not doing it alone so it won't be too difficult, just a different schedule than you are used to. :) Then you have a nice vacation with Lisa to Sri Lanka?

    Have a great day! :)

Good morning old people. Time to get those creaking bones moving around. Stretch and groan, cuss and moan, and start another day.

Happy Monday morning from cool but sunny Iowa. It's 23 clear, sunshiny degrees out with a 8+MPH breeze from the north. Only supposed to get to upper 20's today, in spite of the sun. That's ok, I ain't goin out. I'm turnin into my old auntie Marion. We used to say a lungful of fresh air and a cold drink of water would probably kill her.
I gotta take a bag full of empty cans and jars to the recycle room, pick up my mail when it comes, and my chores are over. Ahh, the joys or being retired.
So, behave yourselves, if you can't behave, travel in an armed group.

Good Morning, Everyone! It's another beautiful sunny day here. I'm trying to get caught up on some administrative items before I bake cookies. I'm hoping to get them in the mail this afternoon, or tomorrow at the latest. That sure was a nice long break, and it doesn't even feel like a Monday here. I'll be thankful to see the trash guys tomorrow, because my bins are overflowing. Hopefully the weather will hold out, and I can go for a walk tomorrow or the next day. I really need a good stretch, and that seems to be the only thing that does it for me. Maybe I'll have a nice nature pic or two to post here soon. Happy New Year, y'all, hope it's been a nice holiday season, despite the cold, rain, etc.

Yes, I have heard of tomato juice in beer. It was popular a number of years ago up here, but we didn't call them 'mater beers, just beer with tomato juice.... boring, huh?

    Good Morning everyone...

    images.jpg

just after 4am, and I can't sleep, so I've got up, and thought i may as well just start work, as I'm working from home today anyway it makes no difference what time I start making spreadsheets and emails, and rotas , so I may as well get up and start on it, than lie in bed trying to get my eyes to close when my mind won't let them!!

Shouldn't take me too long...and maybe I'll get a nap in later... :)

My Big Ben says it's 1am on a Tuesday morning. We have 18 degrees under a clear sky with no wind. Weather girl says it will get into the upper 30's later. So, what do I have scheduled for today? According to my appointment book, on the pages under January, I have the whole month free. Good, no interruptions.
Getting pretty sick of politicians lately. Found a good movie on TV last night. I seen it long ago but forgot most of it. "The Newton Boys" was the title. True story about four brothers during the 1920's, who became bank robbers. very good movie, I thought.
Well, that's all I got, so far. Behave yourselves. If you can't behave, hide a handcuff key where you can reach it.:)

It sounds like you are doing what we did in times gone by Holly, getting up when you wake and sleep more later. I Hope the work goes well.
I woke at 4 am but didn't get up just went through a story in my mind and dozed until 7 am.

I am getting ready for the school run and then a food shop later.

    Have a good day everybody

A pic I just took of one of the cats here, enjoying a bit of warmth :)

From indoors, things don't look too bad. A little grey and a little drizzly, but this is normal for Scotland. It's only when you go outside that you realise that the wind, while not gale-force, is coming straight here from the Arctic Circle. Walking directly into it is like being stabbed by an hundred maniacs wielding icicles. The location of our high street means that the wind passes straight along it, so while things are not too bad at the southern (my) end, it feels like an Antarctic survey station at the other.

Up again for the second time this morning. Went back to sleep around 2am or so. Well, it's about freakin time. Our cloud watcher says we are in for a more Iowa like blast of winter next week. A stretch of below zero temps. I was getting bored with this pissant winter we've been having. Don't tell my daughter I said that. She's a school custodian and fell twice yesterday while out scraping ice off school walks. She's probably pretty stiff and sore today.
So, today the big 0 tells us what he wants to do about all us armed peasants running around out there, clinging to our guns and Bibles. If I were him, I would disarm my own secret service too, lest they get fed up with his corrupt and evil administration, and turn on him.
Last night I wasted time arguing gun control with some young snot liberal. He wrote long, drawn out responses to my short, to the point posts. It was deja vous all over again. Everything he wrote, I read as far back as the 1950's.
So, it does no good to argue with those yo-yo's. It's just a pass time.
Keep your powder dry and your gun loaded.
