It's been rather hot and muggy here but when I stepped outside early this afternoon, it had started to rain lightly and the temperature was noticeably dropping. I wanted to rip my clothes off and dance around naked in the cool breeze, but discretion and the desire to not have to explain myself to the cops deterred me. Besides, I hadn't ironed my Birthday Suit.

So I took a nap, instead.

We had planned to go into the city today to Carnaby street and Covent Garden, but despite the forecast saying it was going to be sunny , it's actually grey, grim and freezing cold, so we've put it off... . It's a pity because it was to be a celebration of our wedding anniversary which is next week, and hubs goes back to work on Monday after the holidays , so we'll have to hope next weekend will be better weather... .

Instead he's gone to get a hair cut, and pick up his dry cleaning , and I'm staying home in the warm..

@Mary Robi ..I laughed out loud at your post.. :D

I hate jello but that’s pretty @Nancy Hart.

Good morning, highs in the 60’s but rain later so I’m staying in....either doing things around the house or binge watching something on Netflix.

Pickles woke me up early so I’m leaning towards the binge watching....

    Have a great day everyone.

Edit: I also have a BIG bag of chips....it’s not going to be a healthy day. :(

Good evening to you all time has slipped by so fast I am still in last year  so very belated New Year wishes.

Yesterday I spent a lovely day with a new friend I made at my daughters' recent wedding/birthday celebrations, his name is Noel and he lives on a boat in Worcester, he made a lovely fish lunch for me on his boat (he trained as a chef in a previous life evidently) which is very comfortable and warm, it has two bedrooms and a shower room, I will post photos below.

The boat is moored in what is called Diglis Basin a complex of marina like places where hundreds of boats are kept, a lot are lived in permanently. During the summer months they roam the canals and river connected to it by locks.
The reason the boats are low is because the canals have low bridges and are narrow, in fact Noels boat is double width so can only go out on the river.

After lunch we went for a walk to a cottage he owns on an island in the middle of the river, he lets it out to tourists so never lives in it himself. We eventually ended up in a riverside pub for a last beer of the evening [IMG]

The other news is that Noel has ordered a new boat to live in when he gets married later this year, it will be a lot bigger and have a high ceiling lounge area which lowers hydraulically when going under low bridges [IMG]

I know it isn't but that Marina looks like the one at Hemel Hempstead Terry.. Unlike the one where our boat is moored, the HH Marina is very close to the road...

It's all new Holly, having been gentrified with all the housing built around it, I haven't been down there for years, but it was originally full of working boats being on the Worcester/Birmingham canal. There is/was a Shell oil dock where the oil tankers used to dock from the River Severn, like a lot of places all the warehouses and commercial buildings have been converted to very expensive waterfront apartments.

-27 F. this morning, so this Monday does kinda bite. It is predicted to be this cold or colder for at least the remainder of the week, so I will be staying inside most of the time. When we had livestock and I had to work every day, these times were a bit trying, but no that I am retired and we no longer have livestock to worry about or sled dogs, life is much easier. The sun is bright and we are almost up to 6 hours of daylight however. Woohoo!!
