Today we went for our annual walk to the local park where the festival of масленица (pancake week) Shrove week or The Festival of the Sun takes place, it's based on the pagan festival celebrating the end of winter, which as you can see from the photos I took below is still far from over. The straw dolls representing winter which are on sale everywhere, would traditionally have been burnt, the large one at the centre of the park will be set alight this evening, marking the end of the week long celebrations, though sadly not winter. Some old buildings overlooking the river in the park...
Mornin' all... It's a cloudy quite cold morning, but fortunately the gale force winds have calmed down, and it's not raining!! I've had to reschedule a hospital appt I have for tomorrow morning, and make a new appt to see my physio now I have my results from the Imaging centre.. ( good grief I sound like I'm falling apart).. Just waiting now for company to collect a parcel and deliver one... ..and then my day is my own. Hope everything goes well for your husband at the hospital today @Gloria Mitchell ... and keeping @Babs Hunt in our thoughts...

Afternoon all.. It's warmish, and sunny today... Been waiting to hear what's going to happen with Brexit at the end of the month before I book a holiday abroad.. but it looks like we'll probably not be leaving at the end of the month after all, it's all such a shambles.... so I may as well go ahead an book anyway... Well, Holly, compared to some of us on here...…….you do/are. Nothing to be offended by. Just look at what you and your hubby have/own. We know a couple that are the same way and they know it. They are "Snowbirds" with two homes, a nice cottage on a lake, plus multiple boats. Actually, there are people that think we are rich, because we own a boat. Seriously. But, what they don't know is the boat is a 1992, not a 2019. A 1992 definitely doesn't put us in the "rich" column. But, then again, there will be those that will think that.
@Cody Fousnaugh , I'm not offended in the least , it's just that I was confused how you got to that conclusion by my avatar.. Now, you're explaining about the boat and the houses etc, I understand your statement.. Money doesn't buy everything tho' Cody, you have to always remember that... certainly not good health!!
As far as health goes, having enough money does help with health. There are many heart patients here in the U.S. that either barely or plainly can't afford their heart medicine. As I will always say, "money" is the key to having a nice Senior life/lifestyle and retirement...…...to many, that is.
There's no doubt that money can get you seeing a doctor quicker, in this country , and therefore help to diagnose or treat illnesses more quickly but money can't buy you a cure. if that were the case, then everyone who is rich would live until they're old!!
It is another beautiful, but chilly day here in Honolulu,, and some clouds even. Today I am going to take the trolley and ride around on the tour routes and take pictures, so I will probably have new adventures to write about by tonight or tomorrow (depending on how tired i am by tonight. Last night, I was sitting out near the pool and waterfall and watching the ocean while waiting for Robin to get back to the hotel, and it was almost sunset. Suddenly, and before I could get my camera out and ready...... an almost naked Hawaiian man came running through in front of me , carrying a torch, and lighting the torch lights along the walking path as he went. By the time I got over being shocked and grabbed my camera, he was already too far away to get a good picture; but you better believe that tonight at 6pm, I am going to be out there with my camera and ready to try and get a picture of this event to share with everyone !
