You all are too late. That drawing was for last Wednesday night, and no one won. I have no tickets for Saturday night. So, one of you will have to win and share. Good luck.
Mornin', from the little city on the east edge of Iowa. We are enjoying 30 overcast degrees today, with gutsy 23+MPH breezes from the great, cold NW. Our temps are supposed to steadily drop throughout the day. So, guess I'll just sit by the flickering light of the TV, sip hot coffee or tea, and watch the current crop of politicians bash each other. Have a good 'un, y'all. And, behave yourselves. If you can't behave, do what I do and blame it on temporary insanity.
Good morning to one and all. Slept in til 8AM, I am having my coffee and my brand new chocolate cheerios, with a banana! A great start.....
Been busy the last couple of days...had some news yesterday from my consultant which has taken me time to digest and get my head around..had to take a couple of knock out pills last night so I could calm my mind and let me get some sleep, which left me very thick headed this morning ..but this morning I've spent time talking with family on the phone at home and abroad , and just kinda trying to get things into perspective...but anyway..things happen, we all have our crosses to bear, and many much more than me so I won't labour the point any more...but just to say thank you to all of my friends who PM'd me with their concerns for me yesterday...I really do value all of your friendships on here...there is no nicer bunch of people than everyone on this Forum, and I really mean that. ((hugs)) Now..on with the day...it's 2pm and I've just oven roasted some skinless and boneless chicken thighs and portobello mushrooms so I think..I'll go and have some lunch... Have a good day Saturday everyone and especially to anyone who is hurting today..may your pain be small..and you smiles be Huge..
Good morning everyone! I finally got a good night's sleep last night thanks to an extra half of xanax. I've been sleeping terribly lately and it's been wearing me down. There are things going on that I haven't mentioned but my mom's not doing well, I had plumbing issues which turned out to be nothing but stressed me out and cost my daughter money. I'll tell the story one day. Holly, whatever news you got, it appears you have a handle on it and we are here for you if you need us. Hopefully tonight I will win 800 million dollars and although money doesnt buy health and happiness it would be nice. Have a great start to your weekend.
I bought two Powerball tickets, because I'd kick myself if someone else here won and I didn't . I survived the severe thunder and hail storms of last night, and it's a gorgeous sunny day here today. I'm heading downstairs for more coffee and to take down the Christmas decorations in a bit, but wanted to stop in first and say Good Morning! I hope anyone East of here (in the U.S.) stays safe, I heard the bad weather was headed that way.
I guess its goodnight really for me now, it was all hands to the pump this morning, literally .......as the central heating circulation pump stopped working last night. I have spent all day in and out of plumbers shops, first buying a new pump, then on fitting it find the disturbed isolation valves started leaking. So had to drain the whole system and fit new ones. What a day but at least we have heat again now. Have a good day whatever stage of it you are at.
Good morning to all you friends on this clear cool Sunday morning, it's 7 am here at 6c ( 42F ) and some sun is promised, so hopefully we may go for a walk later. After the day of working yesterday I slept through the night almost 8 hours, a record for me. I guess working helps my sleep patterns, though I don't intend to come out of retirement. It was lovely to wake up to a warm house, though luckily the weather here hasn't been too cold. Have a scintillating Sunday wherever you are and whatever you are up to.
Winter has arrived in Iowa last night. Right now, as I type, it's 1 above zero degrees with a gutsy NW breeze as high as 26MPH. No wonder my heater kept kicking on last night. Wind chill out there is about 10 below zero. Needless to say, I'm staying right here in the old igloo. One good thing about these sub zero days, the cold keeps the punks off the streets. Well, you all have a great Sunday, folks. If you go to church, pray hard. This ol' world needs it.
