Afternoon all... That's a lovely pic @Nancy Hart , which phone are you using? Been a grim, although mild day here today with off and on drizzle.. Not motivated to do much, got the usual chores done, and had hubs help me change the bedding because it's difficult doing it one handed for me... so that's done instead of Monday when I usually do it. Tomorrow, I've got a consultants' appointment at a hospital in the next county, waste of time really afaik, because this is a 6 month check up to see how I've got on after being referred to a specialised city hospital.. but of course as is with the NHS being on it's knees waiting lists are very long, and I haven't yet seen the Consultant so nothing to report back to the referring consultant, but I'll still have to make the journey. .......then later in the afternoon, my stitches are being removed from my elbow....I'm delighted by that because taking a shower and keeping the dressings all dry, is almost impossible.. Just had dinner, Beef pot pie, and Broccoli and beef gravy ...we always have dinner mid afternoon on a Sunday... Oh and I booked our flight for later in the summer to Spain, we're actually renting an apartment this time because we have to deal with some business with regards to the selling of our house over there and we have long term tenants in it , and also my daughter has a staff member living in her Casita, so we can't bunk up there as we usually might ...

Good afternoon all.. It started off really sunny this morning, but now it's chilly and overcast. yesterday it was much more sunny, and we went out to spend some time messing about on the river. Took a motorboat out for an hour or 2, and it was so quiet on the river, we got the calm before storm because the children break up from school today for 2 weeks for Easter Hols so the river and surrounds will be very busy...although I think according to the forecast we chose the better day weather wise of the next week I took a 6 minute long video.. haven't added anything to it, just as I took it, so you an come retrospective boating with me... Sorry about the beginning, I didn't somersault, lol...just turned the phone around..I should have cropped that out...
That looks so peaceful and pretty, @Holly Saunders , and there are some really large boats moored alongside of where you are boating at. I can see that if people were on vacation and on the river, it could definitely get crowded out there. We are still having beautiful weather here today, and nice weather to do outside projects. Yesterday, we bought some pansies and we will plant them in the front yard where Bobby made us a nice little garden area under the big tree out front. I can tell that it has been a really really long time since I have read an actual paper book. I wanted to read more about historical Hawaii, and I ordered the James Michener book “Hawaii” on eBay, and it just arrived yesterday. Last night I started reading it, but the print is so small compared to what I am used to having on the Kindle, and when there is a word that I want to know the exact definition for, I can’t touch it and have an automatic dictionary like I can with online books. I might have to spend the money for the Kindle version after all ! !
Thanks @Yvonne Smith , it was just a relaxing little trip which we probably take a couple of times a year when it's sunny, it means we don't have to get the big boat out which is a lot of hard work... I'll post that video elsewhere on the forum, so it can be seen by more people if they wish. yes I can totally understand what you mean about the smaller print. I have my Computer set to larger print ( not huge but comfortable)... so when i read from another computer, the text seems so small..
I find it interesting @Holly Saunders that you apparently drive boats on the same side as we do, but drive autos on the opposite side. I appears your leaves are just starting to emerge in the video. I, too, miss being able to look up a word with a touch, but I can still read standard print size. If large print is available for the same price, however, I buy that one.
Yes on the river we drive on the right and on the left on the road meant to say @Yvonne Smith , none of the boats we passed in the video, were as large as our Narrowboat....
@Holly Saunders How peaceful the waters look! We just got 12 plus inches of snow here in Minnesota. Thank you for sharing with us!

Today 43 years ago.... I had just become free of a 3 day labour when my daughter was born 4 days before my 21st Birthday.... Why is it I give her gifts every year..?...I think I should be the one getting the gifts...LOL Anyway... she's a joy to me , and I'm lucky to have her as my daughter... even tho' she cost me a 3 day bellyache...
