Morning all from sunny very hot Southern Spain... :)

It's been an average of 35 degrees C most days here...so very hot so it's great to have AC which we don't have at home in the UK. Now it's 8.15am and cool enough not to have the AC on yet!

We've had a very busy itinerary, but today we're just going to stay home and stay out by the pool until tonight when we're going out for dinner with some friends.

The traditional San Juan festival was on over the weekend, lots of night partying on the beach with fireworks and bonfires and sardine cooking and eating. It's a thing for the youth to attend really, and they do in there thousands...

We're staying at an apartment on a Golf complex about 1/2 hour from our daughter, one way and just about 3 miles from the beach..so we were able to watch the Festivities ( well mainly the fireworks),,,from the beach , late at night from the apartment...
We've been sailing, we've spent time with daughter and the dogs, we've visited several towns and cities so we're just going to have a rest today.... I've taken loads of photos but they're mostly on my phone which downlaods to my Mac at home, I don't know how to transfer them to this laptop but here's one I took with my camera...

    DSCF7979.JPG
I'll try and upload some from my Ipad next time, that'll be easier...

Have a great day folks.... don't miss me too much LOL>..:D

Enjoy your stay, @Holly Saunders . You're not missing out on anything back home except that it's cooler there as you probably know.
Temps are just as high over here (35-38° C) in central Europe right now. So no need to go elsewhere. :D

Apparently it's going to be around 95 deg f at home by the end of the week , bit of a concern because we have no AC at home, so when we do get back it's going to be horribly hot even with the fans we have

Try living here (northeastern Florida/Jacksonville) where, with both heat and humidity, it was 110 yesterday. There are those here that love it, but we sure don't.

Uhuh... but you have AC Cody, we don't in homes the UK...

Here in Spain it's around the high 90's but it's easy to cope with it and to sleep because we have AC... but in the UK it's horrenodus trying to sleep at night even with fans on

Yes, AC is nice, but it does cost to use it...……..our summertime electric bill shows that. AC in a vehicle is nice as well, but does bring down gas mileage.

You could try small window ac units for the bedrooms. When I first lived in the deep South, we only had window ac in the bedrooms, and ceiling fans elsewhere. Life got more pleasant when we installed central air (and heat), but the children didn't want to leave the house then for anything that didn't involve water in some way.

Good morning/afternoon/evening to all. My wife and I have been busy working around our little farm all summer, so we decided to take a break this afternoon and attend the Scottish Highland Games near Palmer (where @Yvonne Smith's daughter lives). It is the hottest day of the year so far--around 90 F., a very unusual temperature for here. Anyway, we waked around, visited some of the vendors, and ate lunch at an Impromptu outdoor pub (no beer sold though). I had something called a Scottish Ploughman's Plate, which was assorted fruits, meats and cheeses, along with bread. My lady decided to have Bangers and Mash, although she didn't have a clue what bangers were until I told her, and she confirmed with the hostess. Back to work now trying to keep everything cool and wet until the heat breaks. I used a shade cloth on one of my greenhouses, as I couldn't keep the temperature down no matter what I did. It topped out at 97 F. while we were at the games, but started to drop into the low 90s after we got home.

When I lived in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, I didn't have air conditioning. Regular temperatures were above a hundred for much of the year, and it didn't cool down very much in the winter. When I first moved there, I had a condo with central air. That was comfortable but I suffered from an awful heat rash all week because I worked in a bag plant that wasn't air-conditioned. I moved from there to a house that didn't have air conditioning, and it was uncomfortable for a while but I found that, without air conditioning, I could acclimate to the temperatures, and I didn't have to deal with a heat rash anymore. All that I had were fans.

Yeah, we have fans, but very few private residences in Alaska have AC, as it is seldom hot enough to warrant it. We had a hot spell like this early in this century, around 2002 I think, and we spent a lot of time at friends' houses drinking beer and playing in the water.
