Funny you should mention the heat rash...!! I've got terrible heat rash on both arms and my right leg. The arms from my wrists to my elbows are covered in tiny water blisters. as are my shoulders...not sure what to do about them!!

I've had all the windows open since returning from Spain, with standalone fans next to them, as well as ceiling fans!!

You can try any lotion that is used for diaper rash in babies. Here we have A&D Ointment, that is clear, almost odorless, and seems to work okay. Many have zinc oxide in them, which makes them white in color/colour and very obvious. You wouldn't want to use that on skin exposed to view.

I've been using Germolene on them every hour, and they are settling down quite a bit.. I suppose I could have used Zinc and castor oil cream too...

I didn't find anything that helped much with the rash that I had in Texas, but I have since found that Zeasorb is pretty good for hot temperatures, as it prevents moisture from accumulating.

I've never heard of that Ken, so I just looked it up. Is it like Talc?

I also live in Jacksonville. You're right about the heat and humidity. It's felt like living in a terrarium.

Good morning folks, I'm an early riser today and am being surprised to see so many (9) active forumites at this time. Aren't you gonna sleep tonight? :D
Aah, just see that it's not too late in the west but quite late in the east (after midnight). That accounts for it.

It's not quite midnight here. I'll be up for another hour or so, probably.

OK, my PC clock just shows that it's 5 to 1am "Atlantic Canada". Thought that would cover Maine as well. :D

It comes up in the legislature every now and then to put us on Atlantic time, but we're on Eastern time.

Our heat wave is supposed to break today, but no rain until next week. Yesterday morning was very smoky from the fires around, but no bad today, so either thee wind changed or the firefighters are getting a handle on the fires. I know the mandatory evacuation orders to the north have been downgraded. We got a roadkill moose on Monday, and put about 1/2 in the freezer. The rest is hanging in an air-conditioned shed until this afternoon at my son's house. We will give the meat to the families, as there are only two of us now and we don't need that much meat.

Must be very difficult for those with respiratory problems to be able to breathe due to the smoke from those fires, and the after effects too.. @Don Alaska

I've seen the folks on Alaskan pioneer show.. shooting bear or picking up large roadkill, and it keeps them in meat the whole winter. Nothing goes to waste they seem to use every part of the animal for something.. .

Good thing we don't get roadkill as big as Moose here, I wouldn't have a freezer big enough...:D
