So, good morning and happy Monday to all out there in senior land. It's an overcast 55 degrees out there, and the cloud watchers promise a high of low 70's later today, here in the beautiful coastal village of buttonville. My town once was known as the pearl button capitol of the world. There were many button factories in my town, and about half the people worked in the button industry. Some were clammers, working the clam beds in the Mississippi river for the clams that provided the shells for the buttons. Some were cutters, as was my granddad and some uncles. They worked in shops where they cut the button blanks from shells. Others worked in the factories, such as my mom, some aunts and myself. All that ended with the advent of plastic buttons. Some factories switched to the new plastic material but most just closed for good. The one I worked in was in the process of switching. We were making both kinds of buttons, then went total plastic. Guess I babbled on long enough. Have a great Monday and week y'all.
Good morning to all you out there in senior land. It's a balmy 61 degrees at 2am on an overcast Tuesday morning here in beautiful downtown river city. It might hit 75 later today. So, I have no plans for today, how about you?
Good morning, Ike. My plans are to swim and do some long needed yard work. Couldn't do much with all this rain we've had. Plus, the last time I mowed the yard I ran over a Copperhead and have been afraid to step foot on the grass ever since. I need a shot of courage. Today is our first day of sunshine in a verrrry long time.
We still need rain, none in he forecast. Another day of picking up limbs and pine cones and running them through the shredder. We're getting a huge pile of mulch which will be useful. Getting to old for this. We spend the morning working 'til about noon then spend the rest of the day complaining about our aches and pains.
You're doing good, Sheldon. Now it's time to take turns with your wife for a back, neck, and shoulder massage…hands and fingers too. Sip on your favorite beverage or soup with your eyes closed and breathe deeply x3. Soak your feet in warm bath salts. Listen to soothing music like this…and don't watch the news.
Mornin' all. 57 degrees here on the East coast of Iowa, at 5am. The weather people say clear and dry today. So, why do my bones ache? There's rain in the forecast for tomorrow though. Nothin' goin' on here. Gotta stick 'round because of a grocery delivery later. So, behave yourselves. If you can't behave, be careful.
HaHa….okay Ike, i'll try. Take care of them thar bones. It's a gorgeous day here…best in weeks! So all I can say is….Good morning starshine!

Woke up at 1am and figured I'd get up and go online a bit. Next thing I knew it was 4:30am and I was just waking up, again. This time I did get up. Cool and cloudy here. Think I'll just stay in today.
