That always looked good to me, too, Lara... and then like you, I looked up the calories. :( And not only that, but I now can't find a thing at Panera that I wouldn't feel bad about eating since I'm counting calories.

Can't say I ever used beer cans... or beer in my hair. :D I was so glad when the soft curlers started becoming more popular... no more "biting" my head by those little suckers. I have natural waves... always have... not curls, but golden blonde waves, so I'm not sure why I couldn't just "let it be" like that. Maybe I was supposed to look like Shirley Temple. I also got marched off for perms. Now there's a nightmare memory if ever I had one.

You're blessed beyond measure Mari !! Natural waves, and blonde no less, is in style and is the envy of most women today…look at Carrie Bradhaw on "Sex in the City". I'm sure there are even better examples but she came to mind first. Oh, and Taylor Swift...

Here is my constant companion Izzy, after his grooming. He generally looks like a rag-a-muffin. I think he is proud of himself.

@Holly Saunders , I hope the pain clinic does help you. I went to one. The doctor sent me for PT and gave me a script for a mild pain-reliever, I forgot the name but it's non narcotic, which means it's not that great. I can't take NSAIDS, Please let us know what they offer you, Holly and I so hope they can help you!!!

Thanks Ruby, yes I know some people don't always look here but I didn't want to make a separate post about it.

The latest news is that she is still on the ventilator and sedated. I'm glad they're keeping her sedated because I know she would be very anxious otherwise.

Also thanks to everyone who is praying for my mom and wishing her well. I may have missed someone's name to thank them personally because I'm not on as frequently right now.....just not in a talkative mood.

Wishing everyone a great weekend though! :)

@Holly Saunders , @Ruby Begonia . I generally don't speak of this subject because I get a lot of flack back from people that don't have to deal with continuos pain. It is hard to find a good/legal pain management doctor.

Four years ago I was going to a county health clinic because I didn't have any insurance, and I think some of the doctors tried very hard to help me. They got my thyroid under control, and monitored my heart problem, but my BP stayed very very high no matter what they tried, and a stroke became a real possibility for me.

I had been dealing with my back pain since I was 10. My back was broken, I spent over a year in a hospital paralyzed from the waist down. After PT I did regain the use of my legs, but it came with a price. Pain. As I grew older RA became part of it, and the MRI's show that my spine is crumbling. I know it sounds weird, but I got use to the pain, but it seems my body wasn't dealing with it as well. The pain was the cause of my BP. (180/125) was average for me.

I was referred to a pain clinic, because the health clinic couldn't prescribe pain medication other than Ibuprofin 800. I went through five pain clinics before I found a real doctor to care for me. The rest were just legal pill pushers, and didn't care if I became addicted or not. At one point I was, but I managed to pull myself away from it. Of course my BP went straight back up.

A couple months later I got my courage back up, and I went digging for another pain doctor. I found one. He takes care of my whole body, not just give me drugs. Yes, I still have to take the narcotics and muscle relaxers, but it is with PT, and I am monitored with blood test monthly. It is hard to learn how to use narcotics wisely, but for some of us it is the only way we can keep moving. I have a wheelchair that I have to use when my spine pinches the nerves in my lower back, which causes me not to be able to use my legs, and the pain can be unbearable. When it is my upper spine, I don't write much, typing can be difficult.

So my friends, be very careful of who you choose as a pain doctor. If you walk into a doctor's office and you see a lot of street junkies standing in line, turn around and go somewhere else. Those are not good doctors, they're pushers.

Ina, you surely have been through hell.

Your advice is well taken regarding the "pill-pushers" and I understand but honestly Ina, I WISH my Dr. would give me narcotics. At his stage of the game, I wonder why not. I cannot ingest the NSAIDS d/t internal bleeding issue which is now fixed and I'm not about to mess with it.

Our Dr.s here are terrified of there Rx's for narcotics being tracked by the state as "too many".
