@Ruby Begonia , yes you are right about most doctors not wanting to deal with prescribing narcotics. They really have to jump through some hoops for the legal end of things. So many people blame their doctors for getting them addicted, that the insurance the doctors have to carry is very high. Here in Texas, it is almost harder to find a pharmacy to fill the perscription than to find a good pain doctor who is also a good GP. Plus Medicare will not cover anything to do with this issue. I spend $500. A month just to be able to move around.

aww, it's just not right for you all to have to deal with any pain in
this day and age. And I hate to see my friends here trying to cope with it.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all…

Have you all tried Cannabis? There are like 30 kinds that each serve different symptoms. Check it out.
That's suppose to help greatly and isn't addictive. If it works for you, it would be worth moving to where it's legal.
The only problem is that we might end up with too many happy threads in here haha :D Actually, marijuana and cannabis are very different. You don't get high on cannabis.

Good morning to you all I woke at 5 am after an early night and still feel a bit sleepy, its just
on freezing point outside and dark, so it feels good to be in my cosy bed drinking coffee and waking up. Have a good day whatever you are up to.

So sorry to hear about all the pain you suffer Ina it sounds terrible, I am not very good with pain myself and am lucky to be without it. I did have one back pain incident in my 40's so know how all consuming and difficult it can make life. I wish you well in finding ways to alleviate it.

There was a news item here in the UK in 2005 about a senior taking cannabis and cooking with it for a group of friends for pain relief, she was always having trouble with the law see here ......... she sadly died of cancer in 2014
    Her website
    here

    cannabis grandma
I am the grandma who eats cannabis because I get 24 hour pain relief. I had a car accident in 1975 and after 29 years of NHS medication I discovered cannabis and this is the only medium which has kept me pain free and rid me of all the side effects I had gathered from the NHS medication.

Terry, good post ^ I support users of cannabis 100%!! No one should have to live with pain. And it saves lives of those with seizures too…even children.
Let's have some of Grandma's cookies for breakfast this morning :)

Mornin. Here on the east edge of Iowa we have a mild 18 degrees with a 17MPH + breeze keepin us from overheating. Our high temp today is supposed to reach all the way up to 18 degrees, so I guess we are there already, and it's only 6am.The next 2-3 days are supposed to be artic like, with -0 temps and very strong winds. That's gonna make me wish I had a chubby gal pal.
So, I'll do a bit of house cleaning maybe, if I can get in that kind of mood. Today my mood is, eat, watch TV, nap and go online and ruin some liberal's day.
Be careful and behave. If you can't behave, ask if she has a sister, then call me.

It started off like a winter wonderland this morning everywhere with a thick sheet of glistening ice and frost....and although it's still only about 4 degree now at lunchtime it's all melted and it's sunny finally...

Thrown open all the windows in the house to let some air circulate, because with us working all week the house tends to be shut up most of the time, and I hate the smell of a musty house..god forbid my house ever smells like that.

The daffs are pushing their heads up in the garden..sure sign that spring is not too far away, although today the naysayers are forecasting that we're in for deep snow by Monday...we'll wait and see..they hardly every get it right anyway .

I've got some chores done this morning...and just sorted all the clothes ready for the dreaded ironing... I reallllly hate ironing, but I hate un-ironed clothes more..rock and a hard place..

    Have a good Saturday all....:D

*Checks clock* Yep, still morning. Good Morning, y'all! it's a cloudy day, a bit chillier than yesterday, but that hasn't stopped the birds or squirrels from stopping by for a snack. I'm taking it easy today. I might not do much, although of course my brain is always cranking along, and I just remembered a cake I've been wanting to make, so I might do that later. I crammed a lot into my day yesterday, and am pretty wiped out, but I could probably swing that ;). Here's a pic I took yesterday on my nature walk. I call it, Is My Slip Showing? Hope everyone's doing o.k. and having a nice weekend. is my slip slowing small.JPG

Actually Lara, I smoked some reefer with my (adult) grandson a few months ago. I didn't have any pain that night so I can't judge. Yet. Unlike Ina and Holly, my back pain is only now and then but arthritis is almost every day. I'll give it another try. Thanks.
