Check out Terry's post 1251 above. Your son must think you're a really cool mom My son came home once from a fishing job out on the Bering Sea with a crew of rough men. He picked up some crude language there. He told me one day that I was a "bad ass" mom lol. He tried to convince me that was a compliment I don't know why I deserved such a "prestigious" compliment. I never joined in with he and his friend's shenanigans….good thing or I'd probably be in jail right now.
LOL.Bonnie, I have retired once already for a few years, then returned to work ..I still ironed everything even when I wasn't working outside the home .... honestly....
@Lara Moss , your memory of your son made me remember when my boys were teenagers. I have never liked cursing, so I brought up my boys to watch their mouths in public. A few years before I made a 6x4x3 box, and on top I had paint the word Curse Box, It had a slot in the middle to take quarters and half dollars for minor and major bad words. This box included their friends as well, and anyone else that walked into my home. Every once in a while I run across someone from back then, and they always remind me of that curse box, a couple used them in their own homes. And all monies collected went to something I wanted.
Good morning to all of you on this Sunday, my last day at home for three weeks, I am off to Sri Lanka with Lisa for our winter vacation tomorrow. I will be packing my suitcase and doing any last minute jobs around the house today. This afternoon I am going out with my two daughters for a late lunch and a movie, we each take it in turns to take the other two out as a Christmas present. We have been doing this for a few years and it works well, making it a social occasion and a memory, rather than simply buying each other more things, which neither of us need. It's very quiet and dark and 1c here with wintry weather forecast for the next few days so it will be good to escape to a warm sunny place for a while. Have a good peaceful and hopefully pain free Sunday.
Good Morning Everyone, ..enjoy your day with your daughters Terry...and a very safe trip tomorrow...wish I was escaping to warmer climes with you LOL>. It's been snowing heavily overnight...stopped now and it's lying thickly now at 9.45am .... the sun is forecast to shine later and we're going out to celebrate our anniversary, so if we get blue skies I'll take more pictures.. Have a great Sunday everyone...
Thanks Holly, enjoy your anniversary celebrations! Your snow looks pretty but sadly we don't have any here at all, just grey and damp out and pretty cold at 2c
Mornin all. At last, we have a taste of Iowa winter as I remember them. At 5:30am it's 0 degrees, up from -6. Wind gusts are up to 20MPH, making wind chill -18 degrees. Our high is only supposed to be about 5 degrees. A great day to sit by the fire. And I will. No plans for me today. Tomorrow I expect to be on the phone with insurance agents. If that don't wreck my BP reading, nothing will. So, you all be careful out there, and behave. Especially if you are in church.
It will be Dawn soon in the West (Ouray Colorado near Telluride), it's Dawn here now in the East. Happy Anniversary Dinner to you, Holly I'm behaving Ike…so far
Good mood morning friends. this morning my furbabies woke me at 4:am., so I'm up for the day. @Lara Moss , that is a gorgeous picture. Where was it taken? @Ike Willis , I find that somtimes it helps to record what is said with insurance companies. I always get different answers from them so when I play back what I was told by one agent it cuts down on the confusion. @Terry Page , I am beginning to see that you travel quite a bit. Have you always traveled, or are you fulfilling a dream list?
No I don't have a dream list Ina, and I have travelled regularly all my life, though nowhere near as much as I have during the past 13 years since I met Lisa. I do enjoy vacations now, but if it wasn't for Lisa I probably wouldn't bother going anywhere, as I am quite happy at home watching the world go by and enjoying my dotage. I am not complaining because I am building up a lot of memories for times when I can no longer travel.
Good morning everyone, a sunny day with a high of 66! Feeling lazy and I need to go out. Also looked ahead at the forecast and rain is predicted for Friday when I have to drive to daughter's...DRATS! Rain in California is like a blizzard elsewhere. My mom is still the same. Enjoy your Sunday!
