Donald Trump will never be impeached and every one knows this so why the hearings? He will in fact be re-elected and everyone knows this as well. The hearings are probably nothing more than an attempt to dis credit Trump and impair his re-election but will not support impeachment.
I don't think the Democrats expect to or even want to impeach President Trump. They only want to turn enough voters against him to make him lose in 2020. We reasonable people are not being fooled by their constant barrage of false accusations.
What is so galling, is the fact that this waste of taxpayers' money is based only on hearsay and supposition. There are real pressing problems in this nation and Congress is doing precisely nothing at all. What a sham and a shame for that matter. I don't think they deserve to be paid one cent.
The Democrats get to decide who the Republicans can call as witnesses, and Republicans are not allowed to criticize Democrat witnesses or to mention a string of things that would be relevant.
The first Democrat witness (and only Democrat witnesses are allowed) could have summarized his entire testimony by saying, "I am a Democrat and I am in love with myself." His entire statement is that he disagrees with US policy under the Trump administration, but he wasted a lot of words getting there, mostly about how wonderful he is.
It does seem to be a colossal waste of time and money. My husband is glued to the TV but I don't have the stomach for it.
I think I have told y'all before that I seldom watch TV. But I did decide to watch the impeachment proceedings today. I didn't see anything that would change my mind. But I did see something that I hadn't seen before. President Trump dislikes the mainstream media, aka fake news. Now I can clearly see why. I watched the proceedings on NBC. During the break in the farce, they switched to their talking heads; Lester Holt, Chuck Schumer, Andrea Weis?????, whatever her name is. The blond with the huge head and the tiny body. I think there were two others there. Well, so much for objective journalism. They publicly tried, convicted, and sentenced the president right there on national TV. Without so much as a trial. WOW! Is this what most Americans are seeing on the "News" every day? I'm amazed.
I watched the entire thing too. I cannot get over how presumptuous the Democrats are about all this. As long as we've had a president, there have always been back channels as well as side channels in dealing with foreign leaders. The Kennedys were using them for everything under the sun. Now that the public knows what went on with them, nothing should surprise anyone.
Are the other networks any better? I think they dropped the quid pro quo. Now it's bribery and extortion.
Yes, indeed. And the primary reason for the division in this country lies squarely on their shoulders. There is no "journalism" anymore; just commentary.
