@Gloria Mitchell - hate those times too, we all get them but harder for you at present Good wishes are always thought of for you xx
Peak: My fitness club opened again after a more-than-two-month lockdown. I was one of the first to show up again. What a pleasure! Yet I noticed immediately how I had aged during the previous months. Admit that I had to reduce my weights. For good? I don't know. Thought to myself how can anyone who is reasonably healthy live without some workout? That will remain a mystery to me. They had to make some changes for hygiene, though. Saunas, showers, and the changing area are still closed. No drinks are being offered. The gym machines have been rearranged to make for the required distance. Dumbells are not available. Since the whole club is spacious and there were only a few people (10) training in several large rooms I felt quite safe. Staff wear masks but members don't need to. Who knows what will be in winter, though, when I'd have to leave soaked and drive home in cold weather? Home again, I cut my hair, took a shower, had a beer and feel like a whole new person now. Will see what tomorrow morning brings... Pit: none
Pit today was I couldn't find my mother's recipe for peanut butter cookies. Peak today I found another recipe for peanut butter cookies and I'm keeping it. Soft, chewy and delicious.
Oooh, you should email me some of those ASAP, Von. Nothing like cookies fresh from the oven. Will you share your new recipe?
Pit: OMG, is it hot. 94 degrees outside but seems much hotter. We spent the day power washing the driveway and front sidewalks with a new toy. Some kind of attachment for the power washer called a "surface cleaner." It works surprisingly well. Peak: The driveway looks so much better. It is cracked and I was thinking of getting estimates on having it replaced this summer but now I think I'll wait on that.
Peanut butter Cookie recipe 1 stick of butter or margarine 1/2 cup of peanut butter (I used more) 1 cup of granulated sugar 1/2 cup of packed brown sugar (I use 1 cup) 1 teaspoon baking powder* 1/2 teaspoon baking soda* 1 1/2 cup of all purpose flour* * I used 2 cups of self-rising flour 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla In a large bowl (not really) beat butter/margarine and peanut butter. (Mixer or by hand) (By hand for me) Add both sugars, eggs and vanilla until combined. Then gradually add in flour until all mixed together. I used a regular tablespoon to measure how much mixture I wanted to scoop out and roll into a ball then imprinted the waffle design on the dough ball with a fork. Bake 10 minutes or until lightly brown on the edges. The original recipe says it makes 60 but there was a lot of other ingredients oatmeal and chocolate pieces I eliminated those. More ingredients more cookies. I came out with a dozen and a half big cookies. These cookies were made earlier this afternoon (2 o'clock) and they are still soft and chewy.
Peak y'all I got a real peak. While reading about the disease I might have the article mentioned splints as part of therapy. Bingo! Have had these hand splints for years of on and off hand issue. I put these on and I can move my hands and fingers with no pain! I could just tap dance across Texas!
That would be one looooooong tap @Gloria Mitchell Back in the late 80s on our way back from California we left New Mexico after breakfast and at 10 clock that night we stopped in Konigsburg taxes and we were tired. My wife is of German heritage so we enjoyed that.
