Lack of sleep seems to go hand-hand with Senior age, just like some other annoying things, like arthritis pain.
Wife and I experience this stuff definitely more than we’d like.

We are waking up sometime between 2-4 each morning, too, Gloria. My little Chipper, who is deaf and blind now, can tell when he is alone in the living room where he sleeps in his little doggie bed.
He sleeps all day just fine when someone is there with him; but after we go to bed at night, he wakes up and cries in the most pitiful voice because he is alone and afraid.
When we hear him crying, one or both of us will get up, put Chipper out to go to the bathroom, make a cup of hot coffee, and then sit with him for a while until he falls back asleep again. Sometimes, we just stay up, and then take a morning nap later.

It is too bad that you are so far away in Texas or you could just come over and console Chipper since you are up anyway, and then we could just sleep right on through the night........

awwww poor chipper...that's soo sad :(...my daughter has 2 who are very old, fortunately they're not blind or deaf like chipper..but one has severe arthritis, and the other has had several strokes, but they keep each other company at night when she goes to sleep..only occasionally will one cry and she will always get up and see to her or him, and settle them down..and often she'll just snuggle up on the sofa with them if they need reassurance.. and fall asleep with them..

Pit: just got my mail and I received a jury summons for Dec. 18! No way Am I going since I'm going to my daughter's on the 20th.

I'll either ask for an extension or blow it off.

Can you blow it off over there where you live Chrissy? I think over here you have to have a Doctor's excuse or something that lets you out of that duty...but just not showing up I think would get you in legal trouble.

Um I would not blow it off...here they arrest you for that. But you probably can get out of going if you call them.

Yes, that's what I was thinking too Gloria...but maybe different states have different laws about jury duty.

If you act like you didn't get it in the mail....Ive done it once before so I'd be afraid to do it again but I know people who do it all the time.

There are many reasons over here that you can get out of it...there must be a bunch of reasons over there too and I'm sure you could probably find one of them that would fit your situation. I'd be afraid to just ignore it...but that's me. :)

I'll postpone it for now...no way I'm gonna drive in the dark coming home from Central gang infested Fresno anyway.

Even in summer, I'd be afraid. Do they accept fear, lol?

You have a bunch of gangs where you live? I would think that would be an acceptable excuse if you have to go throught their territory to get to jury duty. :)
