Oh my GOODNESS!! That looks awful, Yvonne. When did that happen? Bless your heart, I hope that doesn't feel as awful as it looks. And I'm glad you have an appointment set up to see the cardiologist.

It happened last fall, and after that is when my heart started to have the a-fib episodes, and then go back in rhythm. Then, when it was so cold, right after Christmas, it just went into a-fib and is staying there.
My cardiologist said maybe they can make an adjustment with the pacemaker and I might not have to have another procedure. I will report back after Monday when I have talked with the doctors and know what is going on.
The spider bite is tender and hurts if I bump it (which of course I always do !), but otherwise it is not painful. As it eats away the flesh, the crater inside keeps getting larger.

Good grief; is there no treatment for the spider bite? That's terrible.

I hope you'll get good news from the doctors on Monday and I'll be waiting for your update. (Maybe wearing a pirate's eye patch but that's life.)

Hope you get the eyes healed. Myself I have been having a problem with my right eye when I am laying on my left side looking out the right eye. I see a pattern very large that looks like a puddle of blood dried. You would think something like that would happen one time and just go away but it did not, several times I have seen it. Most recently with the only light being my TV I look over toward my door and I see something dark that looks like a small dog or cat peaking thru the door. Sounds crazy I know but I had the eye go completely blind for as long as 3 or 4 minutes. I had it checked out because the sight did return, and the doctor told me he saw no sign of a stroke so since that time I briefly had that 2nd time happen but that has been several years ago. I have vertigo in the right ear and possibly it might have something to do with the blindness. Oh yeah one other thing, I am one of those people who can see floaters. It is said that we aren't supposed to see the floaters, so say the doctors and specialist. It looks like a microscopic fluid with little wiggly worm looking traces floating.

Thanks, Thomas. I've been googling and scaring myself senseless; I should go to bed. How long has it been since you had an eye exam? I think many people have floaters, especially "we of a certain age." The doctor today was surprised that I don't see them.

My eye doctor talks about floaters all the time...of course we see them. I forget what the cause is...I think it's got to do with that vitreous sac and how it changes with age. I see worms sometimes and little black spots like tiny fleas. That's strange doctors cannot find out what's going on with your eye. kinda frustrating, too, huh?

I think I mentioned that I once searched "Have internet medical sites increased hypochondria?" and the first result was an article about that subject on WebMD!

I have a heart specialist and have not had any bad news, I take a handful of preventative meds everyday. I think they help a lot and my spine and knees seem to be my major health issue. I do have shortness of breath if I exert myself like drag a garbage can to the street and use my upper body. The neck is doing very strange things to my upper body and I am just worn out shaking out my bed clothes, then I recover very quickly. You would think they would have a good idea what is causing that but I had hernia surgery last May and at that time after surgery in recovery my blood oxygen level was 98.2, I don't catch colds, flu or cough unless it is dust which is bad here do to the farming all over the place. I hope I can hobble on for a few more years I want to see if the Nation heals or goes under before I check out.

Interesting. I'm like you in that I don't get colds or the flu. And I agree...I lived long enough to see this nation in the crapper. I want to see if we pull ourselves out or if someone's gonna pull the handle.

Peak: Got good news from the retinal specialist; I don't have a tear or a detached retina. I have a sub-something (??) bleed that he said will likely resolve itself and be reabsorbed in time. So for now he's just going to watch it unless I notice more severe symptoms such as more floaters or a reduction in my sight. I go back to be checked in a month. So WOOHOO!! No surgery!

Great news! That is how my feared detached retina played out. It took about 6 months before the flashes stopped. I am happy you finally got a break.
