    PIT
We're still not in the house after the fire last October. We were originally told we be in by the end of July beginning of August, then they said it will be the end of August, now they said it's the third week in September we should definitely be in.
We're cautiously optimistic that this will be the last delay and we will be able to move out of the mobile home soon.

    PEAK
We're excited because a few of the bedrooms are nearly finished, they are painted and have most of the trim up, the floors are down, so we should be able to move some of our stuff out of the trailers and in to the house. We're told that the heat and the air conditioning system will be completed this week, And they will start laying tile in both bathrooms.

Contractors don't have any sense of time. They say, whatever the contractor's estimate is, multiply that by three.

Pit (sleeping on blow-up bed on both the Friday and Saturday nights, before leaving on Sunday AM). Movers arrived Friday AM. Lots of mountain climbing going thru the middle of the Rockies (I-70 West) and going thru large rock canyons on the I-15 south St George, Utah called Virgin River Gorge.

Peak: Arrived at South Point Hotel/Casino late Monday afternoon, September 3rd for two nights, so we wouldn't have to sleep on the blow-up bed again. It was very uncomfortable sleeping on it for the two nights before leaving on Sunday AM. On Sunday night, we spent the night in Grand Junction.

Another "Pit", the outdoor swimming pool in Grand Junction was freezing cold. Just put one foot in and that was it!

Went to our new apartment last Wednesday. Movers showed up the next day.

BIG/HUGE "Pit": It's darn HOT here!! Last night at 7PM, it was 101 degrees. Definitely too hot for us. IOW, we will be living here on a 1-Year Lease then (believe it or not) heading back to Old Man Winter in either Reno or Carson City (in northern Nevada). Neither city gets the freezing temps and inches-to-feet of snow that we had both times we lived in Colorado.

Another "Peak": Not displaying: any of our pictures on walls, my wife's cup/saucer collection, her ceramic egg collection or filling our Crystal cabinet. This stuff will stay boxed up! About the middle of next year, after taking the boat out on Lake Mead a few times, the boat, and everything with it, will be sold.

However, later, we will take a short trip (driving) to Reno and Carson City to check things out (apartments and such).

So, that's it. We are unpacking necessary things and that's it. My wife has one more week off, then she returns to work in our spare bedroom.

So glad to hear that you guys made it safely to Nevada, and all of your belongings arrived safely as well. Even if it is hot, it sounds like you missed the bad flooding they had near Henderson just before Labor Day weekend.
Sounds like it was an interesting trip through the mountains; so if you got some good pictures of the trip, please share with us, @Cody Fousnaugh ! !

We were concerned about your move with the flooding that might have been in your way. Good to see you both made it fine.

Wednesday morning my neighbor came over to tell me that my Jeep had been hit. :( I really wasn't surprised knowing that people constantly drive the wrong way on a one way street. It was just a matter of 'when.' I was really sad because 'my girl' had been hurt. Most of the damage was on the driver's side.

Someone driving the way wrong T-boned a driver who had the right of way at the intersection of the two streets and hit 'my girl' fleeing the scene of the accident. She's at the body shop with damage all on the driver's side. :(:(:(

Oh, how awful, @Von Jones ! I just read your other post and was concerned that someone in you family was driving when the accident happened; so I am relieved that it was just the vehicle and not a person that was hurt in the accident.
Hoping they catch and arrest the person who drove into your Jeep.

Sorry to hear that. Years ago we had a favorite car parked in front of our house and it was totaled by an 18 wheeler. I hope you get more satisfaction from the driver than we did.

I think not. The officer pretty much confirmed that because of the flee from the scene there probably was no insurance and likely no driver's license.
