I don't know if this is a pit or peak but my mammogram was cancelled and rescheduled AGAIN. Now it's on for Saturday.
Pit of the day .... Having to have an eye exam which lasted an hour and a half w with drops in my eyes which caused them to sting, and my eyesight to go blurry...then a long hour after that with lights shining in my eyes trying to keep myself from blinking...stinging, stinging...and being referred to the hospital Ophthalmologist with a suspected semi detached retina... Peak: taking a few more autumn photos..and then being taken for early dinner to the restaurant in a hotel in the nearby village. Apart from a private party in the next room...it was almost empty in the restaurant..obviously 5pm is the best time to go on a Saturday night lol I had Steamed Duck dumplings with soy sauce... o/h had Thai red Quorn noodles with peppers and King prawns Our table in the bottom right corner...
@Holly Saunders - um that does not sound good, detached retina. Nice place for your early dinner. No real pits today, but no real peak either. Oh, wait, yes there was- I got $10 in the mail from Nielsen Ratings. Two weeks ago they sent me $5 then after the survey sent the $10. I gav it to me hubby. Cool, still and on and off again sun today. This about sums up my day
Oh it's not actually detached, thank Goodness @Gloria Mitchell but she felt after doing the tests that she could see that it was potentially about to detach so she has referred me as an 'urgent' case ( so I don't have to wait on the usual 6 month NHS waiting list) to see the Consultant .. with a warning that if it becomes worse while I'm waiting for the appt, to get myself immediately to A & E ...
Peak (yesterday).......got breakfast, lunch and dinner free for Veteran's Day. For dinner, met with a couple I've known since wife and I married and wife has known for a very long time. He was in the Army during Vietnam and really explained to me about pre-Vietnam (before the Army went over there) and how we should have never gone over. Got a new Sound Bar for our tv yesterday (Christmas gift to us). Pit..........pretty heavy rain we encountered driving back on the freeway from dinner. Windshield wipers on full-blast and driving very slow. Wife said, "sure glad you're driving".
Peak: This wasn't one day, it was the whole weekend. Had a Great Veteran's Day, including Parade and visit with a Vet friend who had good news about his treatment. Sunday's movie and dinner was just what I needed. ( surpising number of young people dressed for the event, double breasted suits, fedora's and the women wearing calf length dresses and 40's hairstyles! ) Restored my belief that Good Movies with last forever...
Peak for today..........free dinner at Golden Corral Buffet. Tonight they have their free dinner for Veterans. Pit for today........it's laundry day for me. But, then again, we do want clean clothes.
So far my pit is that I'm still in Jammie's at 8:45 am. Also my peak is that I'm in Jammie's at 8:45 am, means that I have no appts or PT or medical tests. I should do some cleaning though since the rest of my week is filled. Laundry is never a big deal for me...I do it when I feel like it....it's not like I'm ever going to run out of clean clothes. I probably have enough underwear to last a month. Pickles needs his laundry sooner..his blankets become stinky.
Pit: We were seated at a table last night, for a Veteran's Day Supper at Golden Corral Buffet, with another couple. There were too many people to be able to just go and sit down. Anyway, the man had a plate full of food and ate like he hadn't eaten in a month! And, on top of that, he only had one tooth in his mouth. He had to gum all of his food. He was pretty sloppy when he was eating, but his wife was a very nice/neat eater. I sat across from him and darn near had to move to another table, but put up with it. He was pretty gross when it came to eating. He was a Marine Vietnam Veteran and his full-time job...........grave digger at a cemetery. First time in my life I'd ever met a person who worked at a cemetery. Peak: Got all of our laundry done, plus a few other things.
My Peak for today is that I did not have to drive my Honey to work at 5am to help unload the grocery truck. His boss is going to pick him up on Tuesday and Friday mornings now since he basically passes right by our street and has to be there at that time too. My other peak is I actually have time today to post on here. My Pit is finding out that my middle daughter and her family will not be sharing Thanksgiving with the rest of us this year. Her husband works in Beaumont so he is not home all week and with the kids all in School they have very little family time. So he is taking two extra days off for Thanksgiving and they are going Camping. I am happy for them to have this time together, but we will all miss them at the Thanksgiving gathering.
My pit and peak is Physical Therapy this morning. That's how I feel about it...I kind of dread going but once I'm there I like it..except for the monotonous exercises...some are a real bore.
I'm up every morning (Mon thru Fri) to see my wife off to work. She tells me she loves that, because seeing me up gives her a little extra energy to get up and get ready. I either walk her to the car and wave to as she leaves or stand at the front door and wave to her as she leaves. Been doing that since we moved here. Wife's family in So California will get together on Thanksgiving and celebrate both Thanksgiving and Christmas that day. Last time we celebrated Thanksgiving or Christmas with her family was in 2001. They don't want to spend the money to come out here and neither do we. We miss them, but. We will make Thanksgiving Dinner at home and later hit some stores for Black Friday sales. Wife has Black Friday off, so will hit a few more stores that day. The crowds don't bother us, because of the nice discounts on things we want...........new vacuum, some dvd movies and a few other things. We also enjoy ourselves on Christmas Day. Or, should I say.........."Not all families get along".
I'm up to @Cody Fousnaugh and make sure my Honey's coffee is all ready for him, etc. But before his vision got bad he always drove himself to work...now since he can't drive anymore I have to do this and I am thankful that his boss wants to pick him up on the 5am mornings.
Pit: had some new exercise at PT...ouch. I'm still having trouble when I have to bend my arm....straight up and out is just fine now.
