eeeerkkk!!!n but it's better than the alternative.... !! Ask them to give you sedation... I always do..
That is definitely the pit of pits. I've never had one, but have driven friends and my mom to their appointment since a person can't drive themselves home. I just sat in the waiting room watching people come in and being glad it wasn't me.
Pit - Decided to do my hand washing today. I hung them on hangers on the back patio which is on the second floor. Wind caught my white slip and there it went. Just flying across the back yard like a cheap kite. Thank goodness there is a wooded creek and no one lives directly behind me. I was so glad it didn't blow into my side neighbors yard who have a fence and a dog. Peak - It was SUCH a lovely day, everything dried in 45 mins. Amazing!
I've had 3... and equally 3 endoscopies... I can cope with the former better than the latter. Trying to swallow a long rubber hose the thickness of your finger with a camera on the end ( and no sedation)... because they need you to be awake to follow instruction is horrendous!! You're choking all the time... The worst of the colonsocopy is no food for 12 hours, and sitting on the loo for most of those 12 hours... the procedure although uncomfortable is quick and is not as painful as the endoscopy
Today was a definite peak day. The weather was perfect so we hit the Blue Ridge Parkway at Asheville and headed for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The vistas were breathtaking and at times we were above the clouds looking out at a white "ocean" with the tips of mountains sticking out like islands. The absolute high point was going to the national park and seeing the elk. It's mating season (the Rut) and they were very close on the other side of the creek, bugling like crazy. The males were keeping busy chasing off other males and keeping their harems in line. The bugling was eerie. I think if I didn't know what it was, I'd be running away for sure. Then it was off to Cherokee for lunch and poking around the crafts center and a stop at the casino to lose $10 (and I was $4 ahead, too...…...I should have quit then...) Day ended with a nice drive home through the mountains and a stop for ice cream.
Sounds wonderful @Mary Robi... but we NEED photos... ... did you take any, you know me , I luuurve photos....
Yep, I took some with my phone. Poor quality, unfortunately. The ones of the clouds look like the inside of a fog. I have a good movie of the elk but I'm having trouble transferring it from my phone to my computer. I'll work on it tonight again and see if I can figure it out.
When we lived in Huntersville, NC, we went to a casino in Cherokee. I remember we went thru Asheville to get there. Going to Cherokee really made us remember the times we went into Rocky Mountain National Park here, when we lived here before, to see the elk "rut", the autumn colors and one time to drive to the Summit (12,500') up. Now THAT was a climb!
While traveling our native Texas state last week we stopped on Sunday at a bank ATM and withdrew a nice amount of cash. We needed the cash because we were going to a particulair lumber yard before heading home Monday. Mark saves hundreds of dollars buying wood at this lumber yard versus buying lumber where we live. We both needed to take a wee real bad, so stopped at a convenience store- only to be told was out of order. So we drove to the next one- seriously same thing. We are about to pop but drove to a third one. I headed for the door just and turned to see Marks face go white. He was patting hisself down. He could not find is wallet. We both searched under the seat, the whole truck- nothing. Out of the money we took out I only gave him $60. So at least I had the main money in my purse. Still he was panicky and I was trying not to be. We headed back to last store, nope there. On to the next store, and Mark went in to see if anyone had found a wallet. He was in there several minutes, and finally returned to tell me some man had found it. The man was just leaving the store and Mark kept trying to get him to stop. The man was middle aged white haired, dressed in a suit- and got into a brand new red Mercedes. We followed him down the street to a restaurant and managed to stop him. We both wanted to thank him and even offer him the $60 . He on the other hand wanted to buy us dinner. We declined and so did he on the money.... instead he said...Will you pray with me ? By this time I had lost it and was crying. So here we are in the middle of a restaurant parking lot holding hands and praying with a man we did not even know..who actually was praying for us ! We said our goodbyes ,but our day was not the same after that. How awesome that an obviously wealthy and Christian man would have found Marks wallet and only wanted a prayer versus a reward. He saved our day in more ways than one . There are still good and kind people in the world, no matter where you go.
Pit :... Toothache, say no more.. Got an appt with the dentist tomorrow.. Pit: : My internet connection is up the swannee, hubs isn't sure if it's external or if we need a new router, but in the meantime he's set me up with a cable connection, with the cable running through 2 rooms to get to me, and taped down on the floor, but I can't shut any doors over it, and I keep tripping over it, but there's nothing more he can do for the moment because this week he's working every day until Midnight. Pit:..I did a load of grocery shopping this morning..and stocked up on OTC meds , and paper goods (loo rolls & Kitchen paper, and canned tomatoes, and corn etc) ..visited 5 different stores, fortunately they're all in the same town and within a short walk from each other, but I had to keep trekking back to the car with full bags, and then back to the stores.. the supermarkets looked like locusts had been in, lots of items unavailable , and freezers empty , all because everyone is prepping before Brexit Day (October 31st), because we're told OTC meds, and loads of grocery items, and paper goods will be scarce when we leave the European Union. Whether that's true or not, people are certainly not taking any chances. Cost me a ton of money as well..although tbf I did get our usual weeks' shopping too....and my back is killing me!!! Peak :... Had to drive to a different town, but I finally after 2 weeks of waiting got to pick up my new reading specs. The opticians store have really given me the run-around with these, which has been annoying to say the least, but now I have them at last!! Peak:... We've had sun all day, after 3 days of heavy rain!!
Hope you feel better soon, Holly. I have to ask; does it appear that Brexit will actually happen this time??
Thanks Beth...I am dreading the dentist, I so hate them!! Oh yes brexit will go ahead on the 31st of October, regardless of Deal or No deal. Clearly we vehemently don't want a No deal exit, but we will definitely be leaving at the end of the month!!
