The pictures are awesome, @Jake Smith , thank you for sharing with us ! We have missed you and @Marie Mallery , and it is good to see you again. How are you two doing this winter ?
Thanks, Yvonne, you're very welcome and we miss y'all too. Been pretty cold but today was 73 degrees so that was nice. I put up a new fence for Foxy in the backyard today, almost through, just have to make a gate for her.
@Jake Smith @Don Alaska https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/rockauto we have used them several times over the years with good luck
Good to see you again, @Marie Mallery , and we always miss you two , but know that you keep busy with your little farm out there. Bobby and I are doing fine, glad that the cold weather seems to be over, and a few warmer days are coming now. We even went to the fitness center yesterday and I was able to swim and Bobby did his body-building exercises, which we have not done since before Christmas because of the bad weather.
Good for yall, if I don't walk and work outside I can really tell, seems when I really don't feel like taking a walk ot workong is when I feel the best afterwards. Walking ,exercise and a little weightlifting to keep sugar down seems to be what keeps me going. It is good to see yall again.
Just rebuilt this last month. We have a few plants in raised bed next to greenhouse, they made it thru the freeze last week. Broccoli ,lettuce, cabbage and cilantro.
I did build a gate for Foxy's pen today and painted the outside of it, and we had her and Leo in them for about 6 hours today to get them used to the pens. She wasn't really happy until Marie let them out at about 6 o'clock, to let them sleep on the porch tonight again. It's just more work for us to clean up after them due to the sand that they bring in, running back and forth across the porch, it has screen doors on each end, and they use them like a race track runway.
I just stopped cleaning, but still have to mop the floors, mop water is ready, but I'm not, so will finish up tomorrow.
Deems it speeds up instead of slowing down. I never seem to catch up, maybe thats a good thing, I have to mop the floors then help Jake transplant seedlings, and all other things in-between. Guess I'll just thank God I'm still able to do things. Like the Bible says, " whatever thou do ,do with all thy might, plenty of rest in the grave where thou goest", { may not be exact quote }.
I wish I had some of your energy and motivation. I usually get busy right away doing things in the morning, since I am up early. I seem to run out of steam by noon. But yet, here I sit reading forums this morning instead of getting some work done.
Kristal, both Jake and I were born with high energy, plus had motivations all our lives, some good ,some not so good, Mamas tree limbs and jakes parents whatever they could pick up was very motivating when we were kids, plus we both smoked for over a half century, breathing is also nice. If I miss the trail walk,'at least 5000 steps a day' ,my COPD kicks in. At times I almost cry not wanting to get busy, but afterwards I feel much better. And like I mentioned I feel very lucky or blessed to be able to keep going.
After finishing their fence and gate, we put them in a few hours, and Foxy was all happy the first hour or so then she just kept barking to get out and was mad as hell. Leo just laid down the whole time like he was doomed. After about three or four hours we let them out and they're real happy again.
There seems to be no end to the drama, stress, and shame I can bring upon myself. Who knew that in retirement one could be so dumb? But I suppose that unexpected turns can come along leaving you ill-equipped to survive once you find yourself in a new place you'd never expected to go.
