We had a dictator here in the D.R. at one time but I think the idea has returned. There was a man with a large Cross on his shoulder moving across the country he was drawing a crowd in Puerto Plata as he was passing through. So they had to arrest him. The new dictator is not a man but a fear put out by a group and backed by the media to control this country. Watching other countries I guess they have the same dictator.
This is a very good discussion of the problem, by a medical professional, using facts rather than fake numbers and hype, and given without an obvious agenda. I'm not saying that he makes my point for me but that he makes his point, and he does it very well. Rather than turning to MSNBC, CNN, or even Fox for your news about this virus, take the time to view this or at least listen to it.
Weird thing this morning. I normally listen to some local talk radio stations in the morning but this morning.....nada. From as early on as late February, the local talk and music radio stations have been dropping off one by one. There have been no announcements as to why but the best logic would be that the staff of those stations fear going to work and getting infected with the virus. One particular station that I listen to which features a couple of people I enjoy, vowed that they would continue throughout this reign of terror but alas, they too dropped out this morning. Now, I know that some are saying that it’s not a big deal but to me, it’s huge! Along with commentaries I also get interviews with some heavy hitters in Congress, weather alerts, national and local news not even counting on the fact that all the stations are looped in with the Emergency Broadcasting System. This morning, all the stations are down with one of them playing heavy metal on a loop. And that’s even weirder because that segment’s talk show hosts are definitely not into Heavy Metal music nor, as far as I know, do any of the hosts which follow because they all play R&B or something a little light for their break music. If I were really into conspiracies like my wife is, there are a myriad of ideas I could come up with as to why a major portion of our local media is totally shut down. Aliens, the Russians are coming, the Chinese hacked our radio waves, a Democrat coup has taken over..............?
Yesterday afternoon we decided to drive over to our local state park/lake. It was around 76 degrees and, almost the entire parking lot, next to the boat ramps filled with vehicles and boat trailers. Pontoons, bowriders, wake boats and wave runners on the lake. While launching and retrieving boats, folks were doing the "social distancing" on the dock, but that can only done so much, before someone could fall in the water. Pontoons would have 6 or 7 people in them, but, from what we know, they were either friends of family of the boat driver. They all looked like they knew each other very well. There were also a rather large number of people fishing from a bank, but they were pretty much 6 feet apart. A large number of bicycle riders in the park as well and some wearing masks. Seeing all of the boats on the lake, and those launching and retrieving at the ramp, got us really excited to get our boat done and on the lake. We are going back over this coming Thursday when the temp will be close to 88 degrees and see what the lake looks like for boating.

It has started and I see it snowballing from here. US law firm The Berman Group is suing the Chinese government for $US6trillion over its handling of the COVID-19 outbreak. The law firm wants compensation for the lives lost and economic devastation caused by the global pandemic. Their class action alleges that China hid the deadliness of the coronavirus from the rest of the world for crucial weeks after the outbreak began. They claim this allowed the highly contagious virus to spread unimpeded across the globe while China took measures to protect its own citizens. More than 10,000 people have signed on, including family members of coronavirus victims and frontline healthcare workers.
She is making fun of the mixed messages. There is no plan. There are no consistent rules or recommendations. It's a smorgasbord. Pick whichever rules you like. I think it's funny.
