If no one had mentioned the Wuhan Virus, the Novel Coronavirus, or COVID-19, I'll bet most people wouldn't have noticed anything different about this flu season.

The differences between this and an average flu season is the media. Flu season they do not give you an hourly report on how many infected and how many died. This is all media driven with the medical system going along for the ride and making extra money on saying it;s covid
If it bleeds it leads has always been media policy and now they can even point fingers at Trump with it.
I have been following the daily world tracker of this killer virus and there is now a downward trend across the globe the past 48 hours. The daily US death toll is down 1000 on last week but still too high. The most pleasing trend is in Europe with former hot spots, Italy, Spain and France now recording less than 200 daily deaths. The UK continues to show worrying figures tho and now has Europe's biggest death rate and climbing. Australia and New Zealand have all but eradicated the virus while Brazil is the opposite with death rates rising daily. In Asia Japan is leading the way with no deaths over the past 48 hours.
If you do searches on almost any web site they are talking about very high numbers but they are not separating the one that died from covid to the people who died with covid it has even reach a point where if they can link or even guess that the person contacted covid it is put as caused of death. we might never know how many actually died from this disease and to make the matter worse doctors get paid more if that is on death certificate. The flu in 2018 killed 80,000 and no one tracked it on an hourly/daily/weekly/ basis. yes there is a virus but a lot more hype than virus.
My son is saying the same thing @Martin Alonso. Regardless of how the deaths are being categorized the good news for you Americans is the US daily toll is below 1000 for the first time in weeks. Brazil continues to be a concern as does Equador, Mexico and the UK. Not much is heard about Canada but it keeps on putting around 200 of its citizens in body bags every day. My country has recorded its third successive day of zero deaths.
Four counties in PA are rebelling against the governor's restrictions and are moving themselves into the yellow phase as opposed to the red as imposed by the governor. We are expecting more. Some are saying his restrictions are politically motivated. If you look at the data, certain rural counties should have opened long ago. The governor is moving the county containing the city of Pittsburgh into the yellow phase with higher casualties as a result of population density and leaving rural counties in the red.
I know even one death is too much but if you want to play with statistics worst case scenario if the medical system did nothing and the government did nothing the death rate they forecasted was 2 million deaths out of over 300 million people that is less than 1 % that means if we did nothing over 99% of the people would have got the virus or not and recover. Even the people I don’t trust the W.H.O. is now saying Sweden did the right thing and quarantined the old and sick and let everyone else get herd immunity which they now have achieved. Trouble is they use the scare tactic to keep reminding you of that less than 1% death and saying it could be you so be afraid and lock everything down
Those 2 million deaths would be a lot of first responders, health care workers, food supply chain workers, and transportation workers. The economy in general, would be in shambles anyway, because everyone would really be in panic.
