A subject I was writing about this morning concerns the amount of fear that is ever prevalent in our society today. To make things short, I’m not as afraid of the virus as I am of the possibility that the American people will get so used to the government looking out for our welfare that we forget how to take care of ourselves. I am providing a YouTube video which isn’t really about the virus per se but what is said hits home on so many levels that I had to share it. About 1/3 of the way through the vid we have Mike Rowe speaking about the difference between safety and safety first and I truly believe it needs listening to.
Bobby - good video. Doctors will agree that stress is the biggest killer and when you are in stress your immune system is at it's lowest point. Fear is one of the most stressful times. So being afraid of the world and everyone in it, will probably cost you your life. Running around saying the sky is falling is not a great idea.

It is a known fact that many Covid deaths have been exacerbated by additional and chronic illnesses. The main reason being those people with a poor immune system. For the first time Brazil has recorded more daily deaths than the US. Most being from the overcrowded Favelas (slums) that house somewhere between 15-18 million Brazilians. These poor individuals have to fend for themselves as they have virtually been forgotten by their government. According to the DataFavela Institute, there are no health services, basic sanitation, or housing infrastructure in these crowded communities, with most dwellers working informally and thus having no social protection. The biggest problems faced by these populations are the lack of water, food and access to supplies. Additionally, it is difficult to maintain isolation with 80% of residents needing to find food and hygiene items outside of the favela.. As of today Brazil has almost 27k deaths with some 24k new cases recorded in the past 24 hours. Wondering if the Brazilian President has changed his mind after calling Covid-19 "a little flu" and "nothing to worry about".
