Funny thing that made me post that sentence , my GD who was about 14 at the time , and my Daughter were coming up here for the weekend and requested Silverbeet ( spinach turnovers ) for evening meal …….
Anyway I had heaps in the garden so I picked what I needed , removed leafy parts from thick stems
Washed 3 times in a big plastic strainer / bucket while outside ( I use water from our rainwater tanks )
Anyway washed again in bowl,in kitchen ….. Cooked mixed in other ingredients like onion / bacon ( pre cooked ) and cheese ….made the turnovers …cooked them …..and my GD took a bite and found a well cooked earwig ……in her turnover at least it was well cooked


I made some again just last week ..they were delicious

 

seems really weird...

After all that washing that there should still be a bug, and it was found out...

Yep,now days the GD still calls my SB turnovers “ earwig pies “ she’s almost 20 now
