@Nancy Hart , when my sons were small and told me they were bored, I'd tell them to go dig a hole. They would. Sometimes it would be a big hole in my garden. When they were finished, I'd tell them to go fill it up. Believe it or not, they spent many happy hours digging and filling holes.
