I had a delicious Reuben Sandwich and glass of wine for lunch today served by a new senior male hire. At first I thought he was one of the residents because most of the servers and order takers are much younger. No problem, he did a fine job and I judged him to be in his late 60's or early 70's. I wonder what age restrictions Assisted Living facilities have for the different jobs?
Your lunch looks good. It is pleasing to me to know someone or some organization would hire a person of that age. My meal wasn't served me but I did have two boloney and cheese sandwiches with mustard and sliced tomato, with freshly ground black pepper and a nice green onion on the side. Also had a cup of fresh made black coffee left over from from breakfast and stored in my thermos. And, had a slice of bread smeared with peanut butter and apricot preserves. One would have to say you do eat well in your assisted living abode.
I am allergic to shell fish and unfortunately, the facility I live in serves shrimp like it's going out of style. Ergo, I fix my own dinner often.
It's possible you guys don't eat pork loin cooked in the same manner as we do, therefore it has a different appearance. I look at the meat on @Lon Tanner 's plate and seriously wish I had some. Any kind of pork is good, but pork loin is great!
No we do cook it in the same or similar way ... but that looks dry and very basic fare indeed . If I was paying $6.5K per month I'd want my dinner to look more appetising
I detest pork and rice in any shape form or manner. The food I like is in the roast beef or chicken families. To say nothing of fresh fish. I also love spaghetti dishes.
Lon, do you get somewhat bored where you live? Talking about the different meals you have might indicate just that. Anyway, just wondering.
