Where are the veggies.... We eat with regular full size dinner plates, for both meals, lunch and dinner, at least 1/2, and most of the time 3/4 of the plate is large servings of 2 to 3 kinds of gently steamed, organic fresh veggies, no salt are butter added. Yuuum. Then 1/4 of the plate is a very awesome, fun, sometimes downright decadent, main course. Healthy and tasty and very enjoyable eating.
Me too! 4 to 6 thousand would be just for one in Independent living. Two people in assisted would be over 10 thousand.
Where I live, every meal is served on a luncheon plate. Food is usually swimming in gravy or sauce unless you request it on the side.
I think Lon's dinner photos always look tempting and delicious; I enjoy seeing them. He has stated that he makes his own choices, so I assume he could have other vegetables if he wants them.
Looks very yummy, especially the potato and veggie. Humm looks like olive oil pesto sauce on top. Double yummy. We aren't fish lovers except Salmon. Read so much about mercury and other unhealthy pollution in fish. And that the domestic fish farm fish is worse then the fish from their natural environment that we only eat northern deep sea Alaska salmon. Prefer the KIng over Chinook or the other varieties. It also has the most Omega 3's. Many fish varieties have very little O 3's. We do, however also eat some canned sardines. Also very high in Omegas, especially if canned in olive oil.
Depending on the meal we are served on dinner plates. luncheon plates. bowls etc.Seconds always available.
I don't eat beef stew.. I wouldn't know the difference between American or English stew because I HATE it...*ugh*
I looked it up and couldn't find any information. However, the difference between American and Irish Stew is we use beef and they use lamb. I'm just a wealth of uninteresting information today.
actually it can be , some people make it with stout, or ale, or just beef gravy...either way..I have a deep abiding loathing for it. I hated it as a child but it would be served up to me regardless, and I couldn't eat it and so they would try to force me to eat it cold complete with congealed fat on it the next morning for breakfast which would make me vomit , and I couldn't eat it, so then I would get a beating.!! I got used to the beatings..never could get used to the smell or the taste of beef and to this day the smell of it cooking anywhere in restaurants or someone's home makes me feel nauseous
