Google milk thistle for dogs just to check for negative consequences. I know cats are very sensitive to stuff. Ya think Dogs can generally eat ANYTHING but then you find onions and chocolate can kill them.
I've been thinking how easy it is to get fooled while researching something on the internet. Last Sunday I was watching the first game of the football playoffs. I noticed that The Star Spangled Banner wasn't played. I figured well maybe it's just not showing it. I went to the internet to look it up and this is where I got suckered in, here's a copy of what I found. "In September 2023, the NFL stopped playing "The Star Spangled Banner" before its games, stating that politics should stay out of sports. The National Football League (NFL) has always been a centerpiece of American culture, and as such, it has often been a place where politics and sport have intersected.Sep 27, 2023" I immediately turn the game off said to my wife that's not politics that's patriotism Star Spangled Banners for every American. I said I will not watch a sport that doesn't honor America. Fortunately my daughter was standing there and overheard the conversation and said don't believe what you read online, sure enough she fact checked it it was all a hoax. I turn the game back on and enjoyed watching both playoff games that day, but it taught me a lesson, so I hope I remember not to believe everything I read on the internet. What really bothers me is that it was the first response on the internet when it should have been the last It should have been marked as a hoax. It's been on my mind since Sunday, I'm thinking if I got to fact check everything I read that makes the internet not as useful to me. The second game on Sunday did show the playing of the National Anthem. I wish there was a law that these hoaxers that tried to demean America could be charged as Traitors.
Yup. Each search engine puts it's own propaganda slant on things by determining the order of search results. They manipulate opinion without creating one single article.
Can a person be optimistic and pessimistic at the same time? We tested my wife for covid this past Monday it came back positive. She's had flu-like symptoms for about 5 days, this is her second bout with covid in the last couple of months. My 3 grandkids have also been sick with what must be colds, daughter also has been under the weather, there covid test came back negative. I've been trying to do as much as I can around here to help out. I think I have OCD, no let me correct that, I know I have it. Since the fire I don't feel safe in my house. Any Strange smells, I immediately start investigating for a fire, I check the basement, some rooms, outside to see if I could find where it originates from. The new fire alarms are so sensitive that they go off often when cooking, even with the exhaust on, this makes my heart drop to my stomach. Our new stove is gas, we have not had a gas stove since the '60s, I'm obsessed with checking the knobs are off after use. I myself have had excessive pain in my pelvis and hip, which I've been attributing it to my spinal stenosis. Lately I've been having urinary issues and fatigue. When I go online and I check out my new medical symptoms, there is a possibility of prostate cancer. My wife says go get it checked out, I'm not interested in doing that, not now anyway, I use the excuse I'm too busy. Every morning it's " I made another day".
More likely ptsd. But, you will need to get checked out someday. I still rely on Dr Berg on youtube. If you search him, for the moment, don't look so much on diet but on symptoms. We use d-manose for bladder infections. Nite bathroom needs can be pre diabetes which can be helped with diet. Sadly covid has put us on fear alert. No one talks about colds or the plain flu of old. Do what you need to do and not other stuff. You have been through a horrible experience but you made it and with your family. (and SOC) Be grateful for that and breathe.
I purchased a cordless stick vacuum it came yesterday I put it on the charger, And try it today It works well. I'll use it for a couple of weeks then I'll make the recommended purchases to replace filters, brushes etc. after 6 months of use. Looking forward to Super Bowl Sunday, gives me an excuse to snack out. After buying seeds, I'm annoyed at myself for not starting my plants yet. Maybe I'll have time tomorrow.
Tony, go have yourself checked out, please. Don't take a chance if you have symptoms of prostate cancer.
Well it's Super Bowl Sunday, we usually don't do any special celebrating/ partying, in years past a couple of times we were invited and attended Super Bowl parties. This year I did order some catered items like a 3-foot hero and a tray of food, plus I got the usual chips, dips, pretzels, cheeses & crackers, salads, and hors d'oeuvres. The max we expect to be here is 7 people which include 3 children, so this is probably Overkill. I have been known if it's a lopsided boring game to put a movie on instead. We'll see how today goes.
Last sunday super bowl game I really enjoyed, And the catered food was delicious. The three foot hero was half italian & half american, And was made with a good selection of meat and cheeses. It's been crazy here. My wife changed heart specialist about two months ago, He never mentioned that the last e k g had an issue, She found out when she went to sloan's For a cancer follow-up. She changed doctors, The new doc Ordered a stress test, which she took today. I think She had more stress worrying about the test, then the actual test, I was up most of the night with her trying to relax her. I've been using a Portable jump starter to get my car going most mornings. This morning, it took 4 tries to get it going, it was a little nerve-racking because my wife had an 8:30 Appointment for her stress test. My daughter is off from work next week. So I should be able to get the battery replaced, I'll have a ride home. While my Wife was having the stress test, the town plumbing inspector came to do the final inspection. He found a couple of issues, that the contractor said he'd fix. We had Workers in and out of the house all week, the contractor is trying Complete a punch list we agreed to.
Yesterday I was reading in one of the tread (peak/pit) about pizza, John posted some photos of delicious looking pizzas. I love pizza, I was tolded, Once I was weaned from breast milk, I wanted pizza ( I was 19 haha). For the longest time I was a purest, My pizza only had tomato sauce and cheeses, It didn't matter if it was Napolitan or Sicilian (Round or Square). When I was a kid the pizza Restaurants did not offer the toppings, That came much later. Now I will try some of the meats on my pizza, But I still prefer. The plan and cheese and sauce pizzas. There is 2 pizza stores by me that's some years back, Came up with the idea to make an upside down pizza. It's where the cheese is on the bottom and the sauce on top. Every once in a while I get the urge for this pizza, I really like it. All the pizza stores have tried to copy this recipe. But they're not as good as the original store. We generally have pizza once a week, And go to diffferent pizza stores depending on our taste.
I have an Italian cookbook I got years ago...it's copyright date is 1973. Three are two pizza recipes in it. Neither has sauce...there are just strips of fresh tomato on them. They do have cheese. One has a seafood topping. It's almost as though the crust is a blank slate to hold whatever you feel like eating. It is not what we American's call "pizza." One of my favorite places (Cleve's) had the best cheese pizza I have ever had. I have no idea what kind of cheese it was...it tasted almost like butter, it was so rich (if that makes any sense.) I couldn't even tell yu if it was a mozzarella or a cheddar, for it tasted like neither. On the other end of the scale was a 24 hour carry-out only place (Mario's) that was on the commute from the bars in DC back to the suburbs. You ordered by the slice. The pizza was already made, and when you ordered toppings they were put on cold, and then you ate it.
A Margarita pizza is close to what you describe It's basically fresh tomatos with cheese. I had an italian recipe book that i'm sorry I gave away it was a reprint of recipes from 1700 and 1800, it explained how some of the modern day recipes originated. I found the history of recipes interesting.
Just finished starting my seeds, It's a relief that they're done, not sure I'll do any additional planting. I started 10 Basil plants, of 2 different varieties, and 20 tomatoes plants of different varieties, some were from seeds I salvaged after the fire. I hope they all sprout. I put them in a south facing window. We had snow for the second time this week. I made an appointment to have my car battery replaced next Tuesday, hope the weather cooperates.
