Most of my relics from the past are gone, pictures we lost in the boat we had packed when we first moved here in Feb.1998.,100 year flood that spring.
I do still have my softball glove from 1977, played in my first league in 1978. I loved playing softball, last league I played in was 2000 I was 50.It was co-ed and I think that is insane, easy for women to get hurt playing with men.:(

Had too many issues, some with the contractor, with the town Building Department, medical issues popping up, seems like everything I did was the wrong choice or went sour. To me getting things done to get the house back to where it had been was moving slow or backwards.
The topping on the cake was I went to Home Depot a few weeks back purchase some stuff to do gardening, one of my most enjoyable things. I put a bag of Miracle Grow potting soil into my cart and then into my car. Not long after my back and side was in take your breath away pain. I used Heat and four Advil every 6 hours to make it bearable. Laying down was painful when I moved or getting out of bed. I'm still in pain but it's nowhere near what I had, my walking is limited, I have to hold on to something because my balance is terrible. The thought in back of my mind was how am I supposed to Garden.
I was just overwhelmed too many things going on at one time, plus I wasn't feeling well enough to deal with them. I stopped watching TV except for an occasional baseball game, I love music, I didn't play one song just was not interested in anything. Most times I answered my family's questions with "I don't know", I really wanted to say "leave me alone".
Since I don't think my back is going to improve much more unless I see a doctor or a pain specialist I decided to go shopping in small increments. I went grocery shopping and it worked out well holding onto a cart makes walking a little easier. I'm trying to get back to some Normal routines.
The Miracle Grow potting soil is still in my car, I won't take a chance carrying it to the back yard, however I do have a small pile of topsoil left from when we filled in the hole of the pond. I use that with my wifes help to transplant 2 basil plants to a pot. I want to feel like I can accomplish something.
One of the things Weighing on me was the front lawn, needs to be redone because of damage from the mobile homes. Before I hurt myself, I wanted to redo this myself, my wife says I'm crazy "you can't do it", it's one less burden because we hired a landscaper to redo it and add a sprinkler system. He should start in about 2 weeks.

I'm sorry to hear of your back issues, Tony. May be a good idea to see a doctor. Dunno which kind. But pain and disabling conditions do not help our moods.

I've had good luck with a chiropractor. The one I had worked on the spine as well as the surrounding muscles. I got heat treatment, massage, and stretching exercises.

I think I know how you feel, Tony. So frustrating not to be able to do what you ENJOY doing, while jobs pile up that you HAVE to do first. Here's a suggestion for what it's worth.

See if your back gets better with some rest. If it does then sometimes, but not always, just a little exercise actually helps. Think about taking an OTC pain killer. Then just do tiny bits, little jobs, just a little bit at a time, with breaks in between. See if it makes things worse. If it doesn't I think there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. Hope it's just a strained muscle.

My dog Tia has had multiple seizures tonight. She's resting right now, but for the last 2 hours one of us has held her, comforting her. The seizure were she stiffened up lasted lasted a few minutes. Between seizures she had heaving panting and glassy eyed look. About a half hour ago she had a large vomit, makes me think toxic food was the trigger. 30 minutes after she expelled the food her panting stopped, she's tired, but responsive.
She's had minor seizures in the past between 4 and 6 weeks apart. The vet said not to worry about them unless they get worse. Needless to say I'm worried sick. She's my shadow, my companion, anything happens to her I don't know.
I'm so glad She's resting with no panting, no glassy eye staring, no shaking. She's in the living room sleeping now, I or my wife will sleep in the living room to monitor her throughout the night.

Thanks, she went to her water dish and drank a lot of water, she just vomited again. There was white foam in her vomit, and from what I read on line could indicate an intestinal or stomach infection.
They also recommended taking the water dish away and giving her small doses at a time. Another site says to make sure she has access to water?
Looks like tomorrow is a vet visit day.

Sorry about your dog, Tony. I'm no expert but I'd leave the water available to her. You don't want her to get dehydrated from vomiting. Poor little thing.

It's been tense, my wife and I are in the waiting area of an animal hospital emergency, Tia is in triage. She started vomiting blood, we're both scared. She didn't want to go with the assistant or leave our side.
I'll follow up on e we talked to the vet.

Got home from the emergency room Around five a m. I stayed up with Tia to monitor her.
The vet said Tia has a stomach Irritation, The lining is what's bleeding.
She was prescribed 2 meds, one for nausa to stop the vomiting, the other too coat the stomach so it can heal.
We were told to give her the first dose of the coating med when we got home from emergency. We did and she vomited the med out. We will try again at 10.

Tia is on a bland diet for now. We may start mixing in her regular diet tomorrow.
She's off the nausa med, we'll see how that works out. She's has 2 more days of the med that coats the stomach lining.
This was the first time she had a seizure and vomiting together.
The first 24 hours after the seizures she wouldn't eat, no matter how many different bland foods we tried. It was very worrying. Now she is eating, we have to feed her small portions while the stomach lining is healing. Hopefully we're giving her the correct portion size, that will keep her strength up without upsetting her stomach.
It's been a very tiring experience.

At about 3:30 AM this morning our fire alarm went off "fire - fire - fire" for about 5 seconds. I woke my wife, without her hearing aid she's deaf. My daughter was already on her way downstairs, none of us smelt or saw anything, we all took an area to check out, all was clear.
The alarm went off again around 7am, again all was clear. I talked to the service dept of the mfg, seem dust or a bug could trigger the alarm. Cleaned the alarms well see.
