Thank you for you guys' suggestions. I think that visiting a doctor to have a check is a good idea. My friend advised me to book house call doctor so that I don't need to move around with my poor heels.
I totally agree about house call service. If you feel pain and don't want to go out or you think that your pain is too severe to go to the hospital, house call doctor is the best choice. You can try service from MD24 House Call, they have brilliant doctors and NP.
I prefer Mayo Hospital, but I'm not sure whether Mayo has house call doctors service. You can call them to ask, anyway, we can't doubt about its quality.
Too old to wear high heals? Well, I have loved wearing heals over the years but that came to a halt around 15 years ago, even though having worn them occasionally... If I wore heals now and with my hip and knee challenges, I would surely fall and break, twist something... Still good memories of high heals~ These recent years, it's comfort or nothing... Am enjoying reading lots of these older threads, just browsing away
Even with my balance problems, I can still wear heels even 4" ones ... but not for long. I can wear a 3" heel for several hours, but prefer a 2" heel. I recently donated all my "high" heels and have walking shoes, slip on, and sandals with 1 1/2" at the heel. I need that to get the support I need for my high arches. All my footwear is USA made. I use insoles in all but the sandals and that gives me about a 2" heel which works great for me. I have no reason for heels anymore and never did except on "cowboy" boots when I did corral roping on the ranch. The few pair of pump heels I had, were seldom worn and wearing them required panty hose and all that is disappearing in my rearview mirror these days along with short tight skirts and crop tops with fitted dress jackets. No one dresses up these days around here. I don't go anywhere that requires heels. In fact my last closet down sizing includes donating all my skirts, including my favorite wrap and pencil ones, dresses, and even the last of my Dockers dress pants and suit jackets. Down to athletic shoes, cushion SAS sandals, basic jeans, shorts, and tee shirts (both short and long sleeve, high neck and low cut) here.
I think high heels look pretty on some ladies; especially younger ladies, unless you are Tina Turner. I have worn high heels for many years in my youth, when I had to dress up. I haven’t put a pair of heels on for nearly 30 years now. My poor old feet can’t handle them. When I got older, I finally understood why all the older ladies I known in my youth wore those ugly black shoes. Comfort was necessary. Unfortunately, they didn’t have many shoe style choices back then.
'Sensible shoes' my gram called them. They weren't ugly so much as sturdy looking to me back then. They had laces and a thick heel of less than 2 inches. There is a commercial on television lately for a new type of bunion surgery. Our version of 'foot binding' in fashionable (pointy toed, high heeled) shoes causes 1 in 4 women having bunions. I remember twisting an ankle falling off of platform shoes once. But if shoes hurt, I seldom wore them. So, I am bunion free. My feet have spread in my old age so my fancy shoes probably no longer fit. And I don't have the patience nor the ability to put on the stockings required, if they did.
The only foot wear my wife wears now is her tennis shoes, Ariat Hiking Boots and her Ariat Lace-Up Roper Boots. Nothing fancy anymore, because we don't go to "fancy" places anymore. Actually, we never did!
I have one pair of heels left in my closet and I can still wear them. I just don't like to, and rarely have occasion to do so.
I wore high heels maybe 3 times in high school (like a homecoming dance? or graduation?). It seemed like it was almost mandatory for girls in our H.S. Probably once or twice after H.S. Not long enough to learn how to walk well in them. I had a pair of shoes with 1" heels once. Still remember them—1969. They had an arch. You could walk all day in them. Wore the heels completely off. Couldn't find another pair close. Then dresses went out of style and slacks came in. I was already tall enough.
I gave up "heels" a long time ago. Wore some sensible heels but those spikes and foot damage, probably designed by many males.
