This is a picture from an old "Christmas Ideals" book. A few years back, when we had 12 acolytes, I put a picture of each on each ornament.

I got sidetracked watching YouTube videos on how to paint ornaments last night. There is an easy way to put a swirly pattern on them by just dipping them in a bowl of water with different colors of spray paints sprayed in the water.

I think I would rather have them look like the originals, or else just buy new ones. Will think about this as a project for next fall. Too many irons in the fire this winter.

What a nice idea. They can put them on their trees for years to come.

@Nancy Hart , just yesterday on TV, I watched a guy making bird nest ornaments and he put a plastic bag in a bucket, as a liner, filled it with water and sprayed gold paint in the bucket. Then he dipped the sides of the nest, and it came out gold. Same idea, I guess.

I did not put individual pictures on actual ornaments, but using the picture of a dozen ornaments, made a "group" picture of sorts and gave each a copy.

Well now you have an idea for next year! But that would have been really hard to do, I think.

Good idea! We might be able to decoupage their picture on onion skin paper, onto the bulb (head shot only) I once had software to print a mirror image onto an "iron on" application for tee shirts.

You might find these square kinds of ornaments, blank.

Last year, I found a set of 2 small snowflake picture frames, that could stand alone or be hung as ornaments, at Staples. No luck finding them again, this year. Maybe a simple square shape would work better. Thanks.

The last pictures of Christmas decorations, 2018. Tree now inside. Notice no presents under the tree. :p:D

Threw away about 13 sets of non-working Christmas lights I found stashed away in various places in town and out in the country. Dangled the last 4 sets that still work over the banister of the stairs.

This dangle cheers up the house more than the tree even, and makes a great night light. These are the kind that go out when one bulb goes out, and I'm hoping they decide to bite the dust before I pack them away, if they are going to do it.

The cat rarely comes out from hiding. She doesn't like change.

    Merry Christmas!

Christmas decorations this year made it clear that there is too much furniture in the livingroom. Two Queen Anne style chairs I've been thinking about putting on Craigslist for a couple years. Even found this old photo ready to post, but never wanted to deal with the hassle.

Dawned on me last night I could just take them to the Salvation Army store. I bet they have only been sat in 10 times combined. It's supposed to start raining for 6 days tomorrow. It was today, or I'd lose momentum.

    Ready to roll.

Lucked out. Got in just ahead of a guy with a HUGE trailer full of furniture. It's done! :D

First I had to dump out the hedge clippings in the back of the truck loaded the night before. The clippings are back in the truck now, and ready to haul off this afternoon. Lots of exercise.

    Dear Diary,
Expecting Vinnie "the weasel" and his friends any minute, for lunch in the basement. Menu is spaghetti and meatballs.

Hope things go better than last time.
