Trump has chosen Dr. Marty Makary to lead the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Makary is a Johns Hopkins University professor and surgeon, and an outspoken critic of COVID-19 mandates. Born in England of Coptic Christian descent, Makary earned degrees from Bucknell University, Thomas Jefferson University, and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Makary is the chief of islet transplant surgery at Johns Hopkins. ResearchGate records more than 22,000 citations to his published research. Makary’s 2012 book, “Unaccountable,” chronicled serious problems in American medicine, advocating greater transparency. “The Price We Pay,” a 2019 book by Makary, tackled high costs and inefficiency in the American health care system. “Civil discourse is under threat. And in the medical profession, too, we’re fighting censorship, control, and centralized authority. We got a little peak of it during COVID, but this is an ongoing battle,” Makary said. “The whole purpose of science is to have a foundation of transparency where we can discuss ideas. And the medical profession has an incredible heritage of tailoring recommendations to an individual based on their needs and wishes and personal physiology and so we’ve got to retain this liberty to customize care to individuals.” [Makes one wonder how well he's gonna play with Nesheiwat]

Trump has chosen Russell Vought as Director of the Office of Management and Budget. Vought held that position during Trump’s first term. In 2021, Vought founded the organization the Center for Renewing America, which is focused on combating critical race theory. He is involved with Project 2025, a Heritage Foundation-led plan that seeks to reshape the federal government. Vought was named policy director of the Republican National Committee platform committee in May 2024.
Lower-level appointments: Sebastian Gorka, who served as a deputy assistant to the president in 2017, will reprise that role while also serving as counterterrorism director. Alex Wong, who served in the State Department during Trump’s first term, will be a deputy assistant to the president and serve as principal deputy national security advisor.
I have posted about my anecdotal study of 50 healthcare workers, about half of who took flu vaccines and half did not. Of course, none of them died, but equal numbers got sick. The vaccine did not keep any of them from getting the flu, and the days off work were about the same. I had no good way to judge the severity of illness however, other than duration. The flu vaccine that year made no difference, and the vaccine makers admit that they miss the virus that causes the seasonal disease about half the time. I agree that many of the flu deaths during the Covid thing were attributed to Covid, at least in the U.S., as the government rewarded Covid deaths but did not reward flu deaths, so any death that could be attributed to Covid was, including cardiac death, cancer deaths, and even some automobile crashes if they tested positive.
What concerns me is that propaganda works. During COVID, I heard people say that if masks prevent the flu season from happening, they should be required wearing for everyone. Even though the Surgeon General position is mostly for show, we don't need that bully pulpit being used to force compliance with ineffective stupidity on us.
I find Russell Vought a disturbing choice since he co-authored that Project 25 crap that Trump said he had no involvement with. Now I'm beginning to be concerned and I hope another shit storm isn't brewing.
If the confirmation hearings for Kavanaugh are any indication of what other confirmation hearings for Trump’s picks are going to entail, popcorn sales are going to skyrocket.

Trump has announced that the current FBI will not be processing clearance background checks for his appointees. That process shall wait until after the incoming administration takes over the bureau and its own officials are installed in key positions. His concern is that the current FBI is nothing more that the Democrat's personal police force. Townhall article
