There are occasional times when I would like to freeze a frame during a TV episode and save it as a picture file.

Are there any devices that would permit frame-grabbing?

    Thanks,
    Hal

Dunno about the TV thing. But, if you are so inclined, you can pause a video on YouTube, take a screen shot and then photo shop it.

No, I was talking about stills, such as scenes on a TV Commercial or in a still portion of a Movie, where there would not be any "smear" caused by capturing an analog movie scene.

When watching a DVD movie, I can capture a scene, even if it's part of a continuous action sequence, because it's a digital frame, with no "smear".

I'm thinking some type of TIVO device, maybe. I only have antenna TV so am unfamiliar with the television equipment that's available.

I use free video software that will save a video frame as a picture file. It's not a screen shot, it's an actual high-quality file rendered from the frame. But that's from a file on your hard drive, or a DVD in the PC. Filmora.
