We are having pretty crappy weather here, with light rain, some wind and way to cold for us. IOW, it’s a Nor’easter. I will continue to say this..... this is FLORIDA and it’s suppose to be WARM with SUNSHINE here. What happened??? Bah Humbug!!
You're still a lot warmer than the rest of the states! It's pretty darn cold in southern Illinois now too where my son lives...they usually have mild winters. They still have to wear coats etc but it's frigid there now. We're a tad chilly too but I went out to PT with what I had on in the house, didn't need to add anything..just slipped on my sketchers. I was wearing a lightweight hoodie and jogging style pants...after PT I even had to turn on the A/C in the car...I was sweating.
All right! Who did it???????????????????????????????? Will the person who left the refrigerator door open and let all that cold air come south, please stand up. I want to give you a good smack. It's cold enough here to freeze the balls off of your Christmas tree.
Well, he can just get his cold butt back up north where it belongs! We don't want his kind down here.
I am SO with you on that, Shirley ! I don’t know who sent us all of this freezing cold either, but if you find them, I will sure enough help you give them “what-for”. It was barely above freezing here all day, and in the low 20’s at night. Our bedroom thermometer said it was 45 in our bedroom when I climbed out of bed this morning. I grabbed clothes and hurried into the living room and stood in front of the little electric heater to get dressed !
We are supposed to get into the 30s tomorrow then 40s Saturday. Then not above freezing for a week or more. Do you suppose that it's @Ken Anderson 's fault? We could smack him.
@Cody Fousnaugh Several weeks ago, it snowed in Birmingham, Alabama! Frank EDIT: @Yvonne Smith Re: Your Post # 171, from Huntsville, AL. Near Birmingham?
I think Chrissy should read these replies from the folks that live in southern states, like us. It’s not nearly as warm in these areas as she must think. Northern Florida is the coldest part of Florida this time of year, but a high of 47 or 51 is really ridiculous.
I did read the replies and know what temps are usually in the southern states, I was simply saying that it's still better than the sub zero temps of other states @Cody Fousnaugh.
It may be better to the younger folks, but to older ones, like us, this weather is awful. You don't live here and that definitely makes a difference. I can totally understand the sub zero weather in northern states, because that's the kind of winter weather they can have. We had that sub zero weather when we lived in Colorado. It's expected. But not here. Heck, I just brought our coat rack, with winter coats on it, out to the side of our dining room area. We never eat in the dining room. Thing is, a "winter coat rack" here in Florida.........who would ever think they'd need one? Sure glad we never got rid of the winter coats we wore in Colorado.
What I'm trying to say is this year is not the norm, many states that never get snow got some. You may have a warm winter next year...you can't expect your weather to be the same or perfect all the time. We've had a few hard freeze nights this year and that's not the norm but can happen. People that are in agriculture have to hustle and light torches or whatever they do to keep the crops from freezing. I'm also speaking in general terms not your situation.
Also, it's only 38 degrees right now in Fresno at 7:25 am. I'll be going out to the store in an hour and I don't need a winter coat...in fact I don't even own one...left mine at my son's house in Illinois because that the only place I need it. Since I don't walk to the store it's not that far from the car to the store to need a winter coat. You say you grew up on a farm and was a cowboy/rancher/rodeo star and you need a winter coat in 47 degrees?? I can do without and I'm a spoiled skinny city gal. Time for a break for me from here...
Ok, let's not get started now. 38 degrees to you might not be cold, but to us it is. Yes, I grew up on a farm, but just how many years ago was that.........in the mid/late 60's when I was a teen, not closing in on 69 years old. I was never a rancher, but did meet some. I was never a rodeo star, but did meet many. Actually, have no idea where you thought I was a rancher and/or rodeo star. You don't mind freezing your bod off, that's entirely up to you, but for us, we like staying warm. Or, as the old saying goes........"to each their own", which I don't always agree with. Many who move to Florida, isn't what they think it is and leave. The winters are necessarily mild and warm, two reasons why people want to move here, and then find out differently. Summers are hot and humid, with always the possibility of a Tropical Storm or Hurricane hitting. Let's NOT continue to argue about this weather. It's COLD here and we don't like it.
