Yeah, ours is going too. We are still below freezing every night, but it is bright and sunny during the day. It is supposed to be near 40 F. on Easter, so that might make a lot of this stuff go away. The creek behind our house has a small channel running through it most of the way where the current is swiftest, but we can still safely walk on the parts that are not flowing.
I have seen a lot of wasps out early this year...and the lizards are coming out more and more. Oh yes, and some Bees gathering pollen from the Clover. And I did see both a baby and a young adult grass snake this past week but no ticks, flies, or mosquitoes yet. They are part of living in the South though....along with the love bugs...but right now the Spring I was thinking about sending along to y'all consists of packs of colorful flower seeds!
Menominee, Michigan, about ten miles south of where I grew up, got 24.5 inches of snow, according to the Detroit Free Press.
@Ken Anderson One June maybe first week, wife and I left Vegas to drive up to Crater Lake, stop at Lassen Nat'l Park first. 2-lane heading to Lassen started to have signs "road closed ahead". Couple miles farther, a wall of snow at least 20 feet high blocked passage. I wondered how they had plowed it out so cleanly. Took round about way, headed to Crater Lake, further north. South entrance to Park marked "road closed". Such was the way this Midwestern Tenderfoot learned of the hazards and travails of mountain living adjacent to the "Paradises" of the Southwestern U.S. I was astounded. SNOW in California?? Or Oregon?? Think this was 1975....... Frank
I didn't know they still did that. Didn't know they still made snow tires. Guess I've been in the south too long.
