We got a great 'self heating' cat bed on amazon a good while back. It is very plush with a space blanket sewn in. A feral cat took it over that is why my barn cat has his own new one in the barnhouse.

Still not the horrific snowstorm they warned about, but it's snowing. So far, the only necessary shoveling was so that someone wouldn't get their feet wet walking to the car. That, and the stuff the town plows in front of the driveway.

We awoke to no power this morning, due to heavy snow on the trees and wires, no doubt. Since they were saying we'll be without power until 4 pm, we decided to spend the night in a hotel in Bangor. Still not a lot of snow, but a problem nevertheless.

No, it'll be okay. The oil heater will stay on and the temperatures aren't going to get very low, anyhow.

Reportedly, the power is back on in Millinocket but it's still out in much of Western and Northern Maine.

I haven't heard but it was very heavy snow that stuck to all of the trees, so I suspect it took lines down all over the state. We're back home now, with power, although some parts of the state are still down.

The snow was supposed to hit last night, but we just got a few flurries, nit enough to stick even. the inside of our windows are all covered in thick frost.
I am keeping bundled up , and had the electric throw blanket over my lap this morning.
Poodle had his warm Poodle-Parka on to go outside .

I saw that Ryan said the snow didn't go as far south as the models predicted. Someone on Facebook in Wisconsin (wife's friend) said that people in the south should stay inside and not go out for any reason, and northerners should take their heavy coat wherever they go.:) Not the same storm, but we are having wind. Gusts peaked at 70 mph last ight and the temp here rose from -25 F. to +20 almost instantly when the wind peaked. Some drifting now and power outages all around, but we still have juice.

If it keep raining, as it has been all day and still is, all of our snow might be washed away by Christmas.

That weather guy said it was colder in St. Louis than any place in Maine today. Don't know if that is true.

I haven't looked but it seems pretty warm. We still have some snow, but most of it has either melted or been washed away by a couple of days of rain. It's dry today and colder than yesterday. I just looked and I can see that it's 20 degrees today so, yeah, it's definitely colder today. I can still see the snow melting off the roof, but that's probably more of a solar thaw. I have a brother living in Florida, near Disney World, and he just told me it was in the low 40s there.

Still just above freezing but sunny and a beautiful day. I notice that all of the landscaping that has only begun to recover from The Great Freeze Event of 2020 is all dead again.

    Here's the coming week...
