Any sign of the blizzard yet @Ken Anderson. You know you can go to Dairy Queen and get all the blizzards you want.
Not a speck of snow since yesterday. So far. Although friends south and west of here say they are getting hit hard.
Now we're starting to get some snow. Coming down steady, but nothing in the way of wind with it, so it's not a blizzard. But the blizzard wasn't supposed to begin until midnight, a couple of hours from now. Then again, the snow as supposed to have started this afternoon.
We've had one snowfall this winter, about one inch. Right now we need water, whether snow or rain doesn't matter,
Careful what you wish for, @Sheldon Scott ....I think we're getting more than we wanted in California! It's not evening raining here and there are flood warnings for Fresno county, think the reservoirs or the San Joaquin river is overflowing. That hasn't been a river since I moved here..it's been dry in this area for the past 14 years. I'm starting to worry about my drive to the coast...Pacheco pass has a huge reservoir that's been down really low but when I first moved here the water almost touched the road.
Okay, we got hit pretty hard overnight. Probably, it could be called a blizzard, and it's still going. We're snowed in for the day, since I don't see a point in blowing snow around while it's still snowing hard. Plus, that wind wouldn't be pleasant. This is the most snow I've seen in ten years or so. Darned global warming.
It would seem like rain would be a good thing as I'm always hearing on the News about the drought in California. @Ken Anderson As long as y'all have everything y'all need a "snowed in" day shouldn't be to bad. Stay safe and enjoy your "blizzard".
Our local bowling alley didn't make it through the blizzard. It's been closed for quite a while, and I don't like the guy who owns it anyhow so...
Wow, that's a lot of snow! Is the Blizzard over? Is your beard frozen? Even though you're using a snowblower, please be careful!!
Yes, and yes. It was still going on when I started clearing the drive though. I had icicles coming from my face. It has quit snowing for now, but we're supposed to get another big snowstorm on Thursday. This winter has been tough because, probably due to budget cuts, the town hasn't been removing the snow from the streets so the snowbanks are too high for my snowblower, and I don't know what I'd do if I were using a shovel. In past years, they have removed the snowbanks along the street, so that people can see if there is any traffic coming before they pull out onto the street. That hasn't been done this year. In fact, they might be having trouble with their plows because I noticed that people were plowing the streets with pickup trucks today. It could be that there was just so much of it that the town crew couldn't keep up.
