@Holly Saunders , thanks for the pygmy goats, so cute! And it appears my soup was grossly mis-managed!

Totally forgot to take something out of the freezer for supper.. Had to think very fast, so I threw on the hot BBQ grill some frozen small steaks..

A salad was something also a last minute thing..

Today was a food shopping day..
I came home after shopping and had little desire to cook, so I put on the BBQ some frozen marinated chicken breasts...
    Boiled up some frozen peas..

An easy and fast meal ...

We had a lot of green beans left from Fridays meal so I looked through the freezer to see what would be good with them. I found some yellow squash, whole okra, and half a ham steak so that will be our main meal today.

I'm thinking of a sausage patty and an egg for breakfast in just a few minutes.

It has been a while since I made fish for supper..
Thinking of some salmon fillets I have in the freezer, baked with a sauce...
A salad will most likely accompany my "dead" fish meal...

According to a recent survey we have changed our eating habits quite drastically in some ways, I know I have in general opted for a more healthy diet, but I never did eat white bread and some of the other foods we evidently liked in the '70s
How do you feel you have changed in your eating habits?

In with chips, (fries in the US) fresh fruit and dried pasta. Out with white bread, tinned peas and meat paste. That's the story of the modern British dinner table.
Purchases of white bread have dropped 75% since 1974, according to the survey, while those of brown and wholemeal bread have risen by 85%. Skimmed milk (referring both to skimmed and semi-skimmed) overtook whole-fat milk in the 1990s and British households now drink four times as much

Meanwhile, fresh fruit purchases went up nearly 50% while that of "soft drinks, not low calorie" dropped by a third.
People used to really like eating liver. In 1974 a typical household bought 36g of it per week.
But not by 2014. Then the figure had fallen to just 3g - a 92% drop. Offal - familiar to a wartime generation that eschewed waste - had fallen out of favour among younger, more squeamish Britons.

Other meats have fared differently. Pork and mutton also saw more modest falls in popularity, while consumption of uncooked chicken and minced beef rose 62% and 35% over the same period respectively.

Pizza (frozen and not frozen) rose even more dramatically, with average purchase from 2g per week in 1975 to 53g in 2014. The amount of takeaway pizzas bought per household shot up 1,000% over the same period.
    do you feel you have

Consumption of the UK's preferred hot drink tea has declined steadily since 1974, back then, the average household bought 68g per week. By 2014 that had fallen to 25g. While tea remained more popular than instant coffee, cocoa and malted drinks, its reported weekly purchases had experienced almost a two-thirds fall.

This was interesting, Terry. If Britons hadn't fallen into the pizza mania like us, it sounds like they are much more health conscious.

For supper tonight (Monday) I have many packages of chicken thighs with the skin and bone in... What to do with them ????
I will thaw a package (of 4) and put them on the BBQ... I know the fat always flares up in a flame, so I will keep an eye on them so they won't burn and keep moving them..
When they are done, I will put them in a bowl and add some BBQ sauce, toss them around very well and serve the thighs that way.. BBQ'd chicken thighs in a BBQ sauce.........

Veggies....... Most likely I will make my own carrots and peas mixture...............

How about something in the pasta family for supper tonight..
    I have some linguini ......
I will take one pound of minced chicken, and add it to the pot that has onions, garlic, and sliced mushrooms that I sautéed and then added a can of diced tomatoes.. I will add a small can of tomato paste and let everything cook on med. for about one hour.. I will then add my herbs and spices to taste and cook for another while..

I will cook my pasta in salted water..
If the sauce is too thick, I will add some of the water the pasta is cooking in..
