Yes, well I did go for Mexican yesterday, but the Tequilla Sunrise was substituted by a Peach Margarita which was about a buck cheaper. I didn't think their salsa was as good as the last time I had it. although they claim they are using the same recipe..However, their small size Margarita would be a large size anywhere else. Think I am gonna hit that place for Happy Hour.sometime.I could go for another Sabora Peach Margarita and some chips and salsa.
Chicken breasts frozen and they were dry marinated before freezing hit my BBQ for supper tonight.. a fresh salad with my homemade dressing.. I made a thousand island dressing to make a change.. Breakfast: as usual, 3 egg omelette for my wife with 2 slices of turkey bacon 3 scrambled eggs for me..
Today (Sunday) was my birthday and my wife took me out for a brunch to our local restaurant.. The beautiful thought was there which I appreciated, but the food was something else to be desired.. I could of easily done much better at making brunch at home, but we ate it anyway..
Tonight (Monday) I'm making a casserole using minced turkey, loads of veggies, sauce..... I love those one dish meals...
It is a barbecuing holiday here in the States, so I grilled a burger with Liquid Smoke, some grilled corn on the cob, and made some baked beans. It was quite good if I say so myself. I had Superman Caramel Crunch cereal for breakfast with the edition of flax seed. No correct that, it was Cinammon Pecan Special K with the addtion of Flax for some extra fiber.
I just finished some grilled shrimp, fresh sauted spinach, and some OreIda oven baked seasoned fries. For dessert a few chunks of watermelon.
Crock pot pork chops and gravy, rice, yellow and zucchini squash sauted with some butter and Italian seasoning, and home made black-eyed peas. My Son-in-Law just finished eating a big plate of everything and he told me everything was finger licking good! It's nice when the cook is appreciated.
tonight I was caught at the last minute without anything prepared.. I took out of the freezer a package (4) of B/S chicken thighs and I put the bag in warm water for a while to thaw them.. I then sprinkled them with some seasonings and let them sit for a while.. I then made a weird salad using up some veggies I had.. 2 different lettuces, sliced red onion, sliced brown mushrooms, red pepper julienned, broccoli florets, tomato wedges, and scraped carrots.. I made my own thousand island dressing.. I introduced the chicken thighs to my hot BBQ grill along with 2 frozen veal sausages.. Breakfast: 3 egg omelette with 2 slices of turkey bacon for my wife.. 3 scrambled eggs with some cheese for me..
tonight (Friday) I made a tuna casserole with loads of veggies and cheese.. Breakfast: as usual, 3 egg omelette with 2 slices of turkey bacon for my Princess 3 scrambled eggs with some cheese for me
Last night I had a sub from Sheetz. I like them because they are only 2.00 for 6 inch which beats Subway's price by a mile. You can also put just as many veggies on there, and get it on a pretzel roll. I had a bit of watermelon for dessert. I am going to a picnic today..so, that should take care of lunch at least. I just had cereal for breakfast.
We did our food shopping today and when I came home, I had nothing taken out for supper.. I took 2 small steaks frozen out of the freezer and put them on the BBQ frozen.. Meanwhile, I threw together a green salad with my own dressing.. I served some frozen blueberries that I zapped to thaw with some heavy cream and sweetener as a desert..
