No. His car was a 67 chevy and he locked the keys in the trunk before we even met.
Most of the electric controlled cars today won't let you lock the keys in the car. So I will continue to be safe.

In the past, I did all my auto maintenance and repairs, including transmission and engine rebuilds. My husband built a 55 Chevy 2 door and I built a 56 Chevy 2 door. His was fancier and a show car, but mine would blow his doors off with a 283 bored out to a 301 and Muncie 4 speed on the floor.

These days I do zip. I even have my car washed and dried at the manned car wash. I will clean my windshield and vacuum, but that is it these days. I take it into the dealer for maintenance.

In the olden days I would change plugs, points and condenser and do oil changes. I replaced a blown alternator once after I gave a girl a jump start in the parking lot where we worked...the result of being a good Samaritan. Changed flat tires too. Now a days...not my job man.

In our youth we could do everything (even if we couldn't ; ) My favorite car maintenance story was still when my daughter called because she had a flat in town and no jack. Her car was a little Geo. And it was a rear tire. So, being a heavy lifter, I drove in, took off the lug nuts, lifted the car up, had daughter pull off the tire, put on the spare and lug nuts. Very impressive for a woman to do back then. (But Geo rears are not heavy.);)

I don't care to even look at my Truck any more. I know I can't do any serious work on it and I will never travel again so I just gran pa around the slower the better. I think this motor I have will outlast me and it will be a welcome find for some young guy. It is an all standard early 70s 350. They are getting very hard to find any more. At the moment it isn't running great due to my not having the energy or stamina to stand out there in that high humidity with 100 degree temperatures. I will eventually get around to finishing what I started probably in the fall of the year. I have an oil leak but I feel pretty sure it is the valve cover on the passenger side due to it being an after market finned cover that has no rounded molding and is flat so it can't crush a used gasket tighter. I was looking at valve cover gaskets made of cork like it should use and they wanted 32 dollars, it was at that time I wet myself. If I wanted to rob myself now would be the time to do it.
