I'm lazy today also, this heat drags me down. Even with the A/C if you do anything but sit you sweat. I think of lazy as yellow because the sun makes me lazy.
I am not sure what color I am today. I guess I will go with beige again. I feel kind of happy at the moment...but I think it is the wine...earlier today..I was not!! Anyway, Que sera sera. Roomie got paid today and has disappeared all day. I am wondering what he is up to. Honestly, as long as he pays his rent, I don't really care...!
Black. Black mood, bleak outlook. But, Hey, it might rain, 50% chance, that takes the "grunt" out of the mood! Frank
No chance if rain here for a few more months. In Fresno if they say 50% chance of rain that means it's not going to rain.
@Chrissy Page My German-born ex-wife, then in her own simplistic by logical way, asked me what they meant on the weather forecast, "20% chance of rain tomorrow". I tried to explain, but she wouldn't buy it. "Tomorrow it will either rain, or not, it's ALWAYS 50%"! Frank
Ha ha, I've heard that one before, but it still doesn't work here. There is no chance it will rain tomorrow. Of course now that the people are coming to fix the holes in my vents on the roof tomorrow, it could happen.
Once you spend a good part of the day moving the sprinklers from one part of the lawn to another, the chances of rain go up considerably.
I have observed that same thing exactly, so it is not just in Maine where that happens. @Ken Anderson . I always say that God is helping me water. He noticed I was out there doing it, so He is kindly helping out. Of course, Bobby and I have also noticed that just about as soon as we go outside and climb into the swiimming pool, it will immediately cloud over, and possibly a thunderstorm will blow in "out of the clear blue sky", as the old saying goes. No more sunbathing after that happens. Then, we look at each other and say that we think God is probably up there chuckling at His joke on us......
@Yvonne Smith @Chrissy Page This is our front yard looking west. I took the pic this afternoon, the huge downpour visible is 3 miles distant and obscures a major resort hotel, AVI, right on the Colorado River, which seems to get an inordinate amount of these deluges, compared to us! Frank
Follow-up to above. We retired to sleep peacefully, as the storm activity seemed to have abated for the day. Usually, daytime heating drives the monsoon process, and clouds heavy with moisture begin their march, dropping rain here and there. Unusual, but it does happen, around 3AM we began getting a nice steady rain. My wife got up, her hearing far better than mine, and closed the arcadia door, which we leave open a foot to exhaust the swamp cooler's air. This morning, she said the carpet by the door was damp, I slept through her work unknowing! Result: 1/2-inch in the rain gauge! Please understand that 30-minute rain represents about 1/10 of the entire year's expected rainfall here! Needless to say, it was an event most welcome, by us, and by the desert plants clinging to a meager existence with very little moisture to sustain them. Frank
